I Sure Hope We Keep Them And Get A Couple Good Players That Won't Be Costing 15m.

I would guess the picks would be around #10 (from Orlando) and #25 (Detroit).

I'm guessing more like 15 and 22 which will add depth, but not a star (even in next year's draft). We will be in desperate need of a bigman that isn't old or a question mark and I'm guessing a point guard (still) to back up Chauncey or possibly start if he bolts.

No more contests until the pre-season. At least.

How about a contest to see who can guess when we will have the next contest?

Good idea. I'll ask Lee356 if he'll come up with a scoring system.

These picks can really rejuvinate the fancise. Supposed to be a pretty deep draft.

If the Orando pick is lottery 7 or above so we get it then I will be totally on egde draft night hoping Dumars picks someone decent and not a couple of bombs. We don't need to waste it on another Rodney White or Matten Cleaves. I just hope Dumars uses it wisely to pick the best play out there and not go for the homerun or select a guy who is the most Pistonlike.

Haven't most of our picks over the year been projects?

I really hope our next pick can make an impact to our team.

Not really. But any rook is going to look like a project on a veteran team that's trying to win now. Especially when you're picking late in the draft. Darko was a project, but aside from that there isn't much. The 2nd round guys like Amir or Glynniadakis are upside guys because there aren't immediate impact players available that late.

With the way the team was constructed the last few years, I don't know if there's a player outside of the top couple picks each year that would even crack the rotation right away.

My point was that a top 10 or 15 pick should not be a total project. He should be able to play in his 1st year and should be given the opportunity to play.

I am not talking start mins. Just leave the door open and don't go out and sign a vet after the draft to play his same backup position.

Joe Dumars is a man of many incredible feats including picking a total project at the number two spot.

Oh well, it's not like any other good players came out of that draft.:lie:
