#1) It sounds like Millsap is our man. Boozer's not going to opt out because he doesn't have a contract out there, so Utah's not going to have enough cap-space to match our offer to Millsap. I love the signing and I think its a great start to our rebuilding process. He reminds me of a much more athletic Jason Maxiel with a better all-around offensive game. Same intensity and attitude though. We need someone like that down low.

#2) I've heard that we're looking into trading for Brook Lopez. I loved this guy coming out of the draft last year. He sort of looked like a lesser-man's Tim Duncan to me. Doesn't have THAT great of touch around the rim. But he's big, solid, athletic enough, plays hard, smart, solid defender, good touch. I think he could really develop into something. Big and strong enough to guard Dwight Howard for sure. The trade rumors I'm hearing about would be...B.J. Mullens (via the #15 pick), Tayshaun Prince and Jason Maxiel for Brook Lopez and Bobby Simmons.

Bobby Simmons is still on that big contract he signed after being named the NBA's MIP in 2005, but it'd be over after next season, so its not a HUGE deal. He seems to be half the player he was in that season, but he's still just 29, and he IS a great three-point shooter...and he does match up well against LeBron physically??

    C: Lopez, Brown
    PF: Millsap, Johnson
    SF: Simmons, Sharpe
    SG: Hamilton, Afflalo
    PG: Stuckey, Bynum

I like Lopez. We've needed a big man who parks himself around the basket.

    Bobby Simmons is the antichrist.

    I'm ok with Millsap.

Millsap and Lopez are a kickass young front court. You got two potential double double guys down low, none of this pretty boy 18 footer stuff.

yup, yup...the team then needs two things:

#1) someone that can guard lebron. maybe you sign a joe johnson? maybe you trade rip for someone?

#2) a backcourt partner for rodney stuckey. could be a point guard. could be a shooting guard. again, either sign someone like a joe johnson...or trade rip for someone.

    C: Lopez
    PF: Millsap
    SF: Rip Trade/Signing
    SG: Rip Trade/Signing
    PG: Stuckey

Very good news, i hope we steal nets having his young center and clearing Maxiel contract for 2010.

Misslap is young, cheaper and his stats still can improve.

Joe is rebuilding to make a future great team if this moves can be finished :gun1:

I'm afraid Lopez is a wishful thinking. Prince is much better than Simmons but Nets are clearing cap space not adding to it.

    Thanks for this info Blue.

I have no doubts that Joe D will pull one of those, "How did he do that" type of trades.

I never considered Milsap because Utah have stated that they would go over the cap to sign him regardless of their cap situation.

Milsap would be great. What I've seen of Lopez is the big guy have a lot of potential and next year just might be his breakout year.

By the way Blue are you from Detroit, I knew a guy named Blue Adams Jr.

It is probably very possible for both these deals to go down. It all depends on if Boozer stays in Utah.
Having a front court of Lopez and Millsap would probably be the best in the NBA. Not to mention the athleticism and youth.

I live in Jersey and have watched Lopez play a lot of games. If the Nets trade him for anything they are brain dead. If Detroit can get him, it will be the biggest coupe that Joe has ever done.

Brook is the real deal. As far as Milsap, I'd take him in a heartbeat over Boozer. Looks like Utah is stuck with the scum bag.

I WOULD LOVE to see Brook Lopez (Robin Lopez is garbage) on this team.

I like Lopez, but why would the Nets want Tay?

I think Milsap is the obvious choice. Who doesn't kick start their rebuilding process by looking for an upgrade of their 4th big man?

That is my next question.....where are these rumors coming from? or was it posted on some other thread? Until the draft happens, I would not rely on anything anyone says, because we never know what Joe is thinking, who he will select, hire or go after.

Please see this link that my buddy posed a question to Bulls beat writer Sam Smith about how we miss LB and see Sam's response

    BULLS: Ask Sam | 06.05.09

Scroll half way down the page where it says Dear Larry Brown and see what Sam says about the Pistons current state and future:

If we got Millsap, him and JMax together would be sick. If Brook was to be snuck into the Pistons organization, that would be cool. He can block and he plays well around the rim. I would like the line-up to look like this:

    C: Lopez/Brown
    PF: JMax/Millsap
    SF: Prince/Sharpe
    SG: Hamilton/Afflalo
    PG: Bynum/Stuckey

Windsor is a mini-vegas? We have a couple Taco Bells and a single casino.

He must of meant the whole area with Detroit incl. You know those Casino's that are in chapter 11. And the one in Windsor that soon will be with the new passport req crossing law.

Actually the Detroit area is still a big plus for African American Athletes. Question is how much will the new Piston ownership support the team when they may have to take on some losses for a few years. Its going to be hard making a profit even under the lux tax.
