Our server went down for about 4 hours today.

First, trying to resolve an issue with mail, the server underwent a software update.

    This broke everything.

Then I spent 3 hours fighting to get it back, plus trying to work with a tech support guy who was initially not very helpful.

In the end, my friend who is something of a genius helped me figure it out and the tech confirmed that was the problem.

    And we're back.

    Sorry for the inconvenience friends.

Ok everyone. REMOVE your Kyle Singler Avatars!! Now! We do NOT want a repeat of this unfortunate event. EVER.

I have replaced mine with one player who has impacted the Pistons least negatively. Mitchell is a candidate too but I gotta rock my polynesian brotha from another mother.

Middle-aged man goes on rampage after losing access to online forum
Seattle, WA - Police today detained a middle-aged man who went on a rampage, mostly inflicting damage to himself and his property. The incident occurred around noon Pacific in the suburbs of Seattle. The man, who refused to give his name to the police and referred to himself in the third person as "Walter", apparently was addicted to an online forum about basketball news. Upon losing access to the site due to unknown reasons, he apparently panicked and started screaming loudly. Neighbors said they heard loud noises that sounded like furniture being destroyed. One of the neighbors called the police when they noticed "Walter" throwing computer equipment out the second floor window.

"He was always very nice and quiet. I knew he spent a lot of time on the computer, but I thought he was some kind of tech-worker." said neighbor Josh Wilson.

After being unable to reach the site, the man called his ISP, Comcast, and issued threats unless service was restored. Comcast officials stated that there was no interruption of Internet service, but declined to comment further.

The man was trying to get into his car when the police arrived and detained him. He was apparently on his way to the local public library to attempt to reach the particular site using the public computers there. The police took him to the local hospital where he was sedated.

It's like the start of one of those Comcast commercials where you end up with an eye patch.

I kinda understand how Walter feels. I get the same way when I read a response by Darth.

If anyone cares, we got everything working again. Finally. I have a lot of server maintenance work to do the next two weeks, I will try to SCHEDULE downtime appropriately.

The server also decided to take a night off prior to the All-star break? Poor form. Menawhile, Roscoe is the Damian Lillard of the league - no rest for this guy over ASW!

There is nothing better than an ice cold lager in the morning.

I guess the only downside is being called an alcoholic...
