Austin Daye is a 3/4 Summers is a 3/4 Washington is a 2/3- although IMO he doesn't look like an NBA player Jerebko is a 4/5- he measured out as 6'9.75'' (heres a link 2008 Eurocamp: Vitals | NBADraft.net nobody is stretching anything) Daye will be a player in this league, he has the most upside out of all those guys.
So, who is most capable of backing up Prince right now for 15 mpg? In LVSL, it looks like Daye and Summers are pretty equal. But you have to figure that Summers has more of an NBA body, right? I'd like to hear from someone who has watched these games.
I have watched all 4 games. Summers is the most NBA ready, Daye has far more upside. I think Dajuan will be the stop gap behind Tay this year but Daye will be the longterm solution. Only thing holding Daye back is his weight/strength. If he can get stronger by training camp then I think Daye will get the nod but right now Summers has the edge. But I also think that Hamilton will be Princes primary backup and 1 of Daye/Summers will see the leftover time which IMO will be more like 5-10 mins.
I think you are correct. The jury is still out on Washington, he may become a decent backup yet. Daye needs more strength and stamina. Actually, Jerebko managed to go from 192 lbs to 220 lbs in about 3-4 months. Hopefully Daye can doe something similar.
Daye is really impressing me. He just has to hit the weights. He doesn't seem to have the frame to hold a lot of weight, but he can build strength.
Yup, but I think Jonas is also a 3/4. This is sweet, when Tay's contract is up in 2 years, Daye should be coming into his own as well as Summers.
if Jerebko turns out to be a decent glass cleaner, Summers a 2nd Corliss with some range and Daye a 2nd Tay, that was one helluva draft JoeD made. I'm looking forward to see these guys in real NBA games.
Summers hands down. I love Daye but the dude needs to fill out. I think they will split time but Summers will be more successful. His game will fit that backup role better where you need to kinda fit in the empty spaces. Daye needs the ball.

It's fun to see our rookies doing so well, but I don't want to be very excited about them.Ok let's remember that our rookies are playing their level guys + and -.It will be very a different story when you get Melo/Lebron...evan Al Thornton as for now our guys got other rookies and want to be in a team D-League players.
(Gotta start the unrealistic hype)... This is my first time really seeing Daye live, and he kind of reminds me of a less athletic/explosive Kevin Durant. 6-11, thin, can shoot it from anywhere, handle, rebound, and just looks smooth playing the game.
Days Games - Highlights NBA Summer League: Day 6 Draftnet - Rodney Halprin "The Detroit draft picks all played very well with Austin Daye dropping 27 pts (9-17) and 13 reb, DaJuan Summers had 26 pts (12-21) and 8 reb while Jonas Jerebko put up 13 pts (5-11) and 12 reb. Some sharp shooting was on display early on, from both the Knicks and Pistons as Daye and Morris Almond led their respective teams in the opening period. Point Guards Sean Singletary and 29th pick Tony Douglas had a nice duel, with Singletary getting the early nod." http://www.nbadraft.net/node/9558
"By strategically using his fouls, Amir Johnson has Milwaukee's defense ranked #1 in the LVSL. 71.5 ppg allowed would translate to 85.8 ppg in a 48 minute game. With their newfound defensive capabilities, Milwaukee finds themselves 4-0 and atop the standings." anonymous scout
It continues to amaze me how by simply being on the floor, Amir can bolster a defense the way he does. Statistics be damned!
