AJ is even more effective in VSL where he can't be constrained by the act of fouling an opponent.

IMO, the most prolific Summer League player in history!
His number will hang from the rafters in the Thomas & Mack Center someday.

They really should do away with the fouling out rule in the NBA. Just give a 1 FT tech every time a player commits a foul after the 5th one and let their coach decide whether or not it's worth it to play the guy.

What is a "butter and eggs" man?

Is that anything like bread and butter? Or is this a reference to the Arnie Kander cookbook?

I always wondered where the term "ham and egging it" came from. It's used in golf when you're a 2 man team and 1 player always seems to have a good hole when the other is screwing up, and vice versa.

He's that good. In fact sometimes Amir just being on your team can make your defense better. He doesn't even have to play.

His quantum skills are off the charts. He bends space time and his radiant vortex slows time around our basket, helping our defense never to get caught off guard. He commits 294 fouls a game, but 288 of them slip into alternative universes where David Stern is a houla dancer.

After watching 3 SL games it's time to pipe in on what I think this kids look like so far.

Jerebko- Active body.... excellent BBall IQ... he's got the timing down of when to shoot or when to dish... real nice rebounding instincts.
Downside.. not a finisher.. would rather pass than shoot inside.
Above average athletisism for a rookie (above average for a Euro player which cn deceive scouts)... most likely will just blend in in the NBA...
Prediction: Nothing more than a decent reserve.... Prolly won't see him in a Piston Uni in two years (the sad truth about most of these kids).

Daye- Good handles... but his high dribble will make him an easy target to be stripped (crazy amount of t.o.'s so far)...
Good rebounding instincts as long as there's not much traffic (reminds me of Amir in this area).
Deadly shooter... will be unstoppable in a pick n' pop situation (who's gonna block that?).
Not much of a finisher (as expected for his lack of bulk) however in trnsition when the numbers are even he does well because he cn rely on length to finish over the top (see Tyshaun)...
Haven't seen much passing from him so far... he's going to need to recognize the help defender and pick up the open man... I'm just gonna say he looks selfish... everything goes up.
On defense he's a step slow but still redirects shots with his length... will defintely get beat off the dribble...
Prediction: Rashard Lewis may be realistic in 4 years (bout the time his contract is up).

Summers- Average handles (below avg for a SF)... willing to drive and draw contact... good finisher... will draw a lot of fouls.
Consistent shooter to NBA 3 range... Foul shooting is so so.
Pretty good rebounder in traffic.. not super quick to the ball.
I'm not sure he'll be able to defend most 3's without fouling a lot.
Prediction: Should do very well as a backup 3/4.

Washington- Athletisism as advertised.. amazing how quickly he moves from one side of the court to the other... I mean like right now.
Good length for a SG (looks like he's got long arms).
Defense looks good yet not very discipled.
Shooting is sub par (coach said this will be his biggest thing to show).
Quick to the rack... it will be a dunk/layup or nothing for now.
Prediction: May need a year in the D-League to work on the O-game or he may just a defensive specialist for a year or two... high upside.

Pargo- Looks confident... pretty well rounded PG... can score inside... shooting about average... word is he could make the roster.

Not all sunshine but it's better than I thought after the draft.

Thanks for the update Merc...I have been busy in the field this week and have only had a chance to look at that Warrior game where they were blown out. This gives me a better perspective on how Joe's selections have panned out so far.

I still feel Blair>Summers and Dumars got the wrong pick.By the way Thabeet looks very bad at Summer League. He doesn't do anything he can't rebound,he can't defend,he can't make a basket.Like today Griffin just destroyed him.

Griffin is gonna destroy a lot of people.

Thabeet will be what hes projected as: a poor man's Mutombo.

this team is not going nowhere at least next 2 years so youngs have plenty of time to develop. Quaestor has also no winning obligation, so it is not tough choice.

Well there you go. The guy is the first athlete ever not to have to be worried about "Out For Season: Torn ACL" injury report.

VSL was made for Amir, 10 fouls.
But against this talent he'll only need 9.

There's also a pretty decent size interview with DaJuan there, some interesting things.
