Villanueva plays well in attack if the opponent does not have a strong tall center in the paint.
He has a good outside shot for his position, when moving from the outer leaves space for gordon/stuck/bynum penetrations to the zone.
One problem is he play too far from basket for detroit can fight for the rebound with rivals.
    Other
Playing outside and not attacking the rival power forward does not cause any personal or important free throws when it ends each quarter. it not help to win games.
He is still 25,Villanueva can improve. To perform at 110% he needs a pivot that can score from inside and complement in attack, give post presence.

    1-Stuck/Bynum Shot
    2-Rip/Gordon Shot penetrations
    3-Prince/daye
    4-Villanueva Shot
    5-¿?Randolph/Marc G/Kamman/scola...inside threats
Each player is complementary. This gives many assists and easy baskets.
All we need to return elite.
Problem is having Villanueva with this centers we lack deffense, but we can have a second center with defensive skills.
I like Villanueva,is other step to return elite.

I think it's time for Vlade Divac to come out of retirement and don a Pistons uniform.

Charlie had a very Sheed like 36 minutes, 17+8 with 3 blocks last night.

I think as his hammy gets better, he will be better. He still could use about 10 lbs of muscle though.

I think he is doing pretty good so far. Pretty much avg what he did last year stats wise and one can see his new found commitment to play better defense. He may even be a pretty good defender by the end of the year.

Shhhiiiii....Sheed got you 17+8 in 36mins when his head was in the game , which was usually once every three weeks or so, Charlie is getting to the point where those may very well end up being his season avg's.

Let's not jump to any conclusions just yet. It's only been three years.

He put up big numbers in Milwaukee (16 points, 7 boards per game). His per minute stats are about the same with Detroit as they were with the Bucks. The problem is, he doesn't play anymore. Actually, it's not really a problem except we are still paying him a lot of money.

Pass99 was gushing. I just said he had to play some minutes to put up numbers. I also mentioned his defense stunk.

Playing a guy 0 minutes makes him look very bad to fans. We all come to the conclusion that he's not getting it done in practice and he's digressed.

However, it appears to me as though Joe wanted to get a stretch 4 with "offensive" talent and then the coaches just had different ideas about using him. We got the guy Joe was trying to get, we just don't like him.

The worst part about it all is that we destroyed his market value instead of trading him. Once we decided that we really need more balanced players, we should have showcased him and moved him. Now he's over exposed. Not only can other teams see that he's not valuable to us, their opinion of him is probably worse than reality.

Ben Gordon is back to his fool's gold self with Charlotte. I'm sure Villnueva will show up on sportscenter again for somebody else after we're done with him.

Huh? Injuring yourself in your sleep for the majority of a season looks bad for fans.

Playing no defense looks bad. Chucking bad shots at a terrible clip looks bad. I would have taken Austin Rivers over this guy and that is saying something.

Can you believe that when I read that, I thought of Austin Daye for the first time since last season.

That guy's stock has fallen far and hard.
