Michael Rosenberg: Pistons forward Charlie Villanueva determined to improve | freep.com | Detroit Free Press

    Better picture of CV here.

Here's the thing: I'm a big JJ fan, and I'd love to see Daye and Summers win more PT, and Monroe is a key to the team's future. But CV has the potential to be a great (not merely decent or good, but flat out great) NBA power forward. Since it's pretty obvious that he's in great shape for the first time in his career, and given that he worked with Arnie the way he did - I'm thinking about how he's worked on his running stride and explosion ability - I've got some very high hopes for him. But - I'm really in holding my breath mode regarding him. Can a guy change his stripes that fast? Really?

Until Monroe takes over as our starting center - and yeah, we really need him to be a center since nobody else on our roster can handle that position - the team is a lot better balanced IF and only IF CV is the guy who teams with Ben Wallace. JJ off the bench with super scorers like McGrady and Ben Gordon and Bynum and and Daye and Monroe could be ideal.

This is just something I noticed in general... whenever an athlete or an organization talks about "doing some damage", it means that they don't think that they are actually going to be very good. It is sort of a euphemism for "lose, but score a lot of points ourselves."

For example, if you heard me say, "I'm going to take the GMAT today and if all goes well, I can do some damage..." that means that in all probability, I will not do any damage at all.

Quit hating, Chuckles is hoping to play 30 minutes a night this year!!!

If I say I am going into the bathroom to "do some damage" then more than likely I am.

It was pretty cool of Joe to invite a few members of the Palace parking staff to take part in Media Day.

It was nice of Lindsey Hunter to allow one last use of #10 before the Pistons retire it.

I think Pistons must retire the 10 to Rodman first, and we can retire the #12 for Lindsey (12 seasons that he played with the Pistons' Red, Blue and White!)

    LOL!!
I almost cried of laughs when I saw that pic of Diogu thinking i was going to see Big Ben lol!

Yeah, what's up with stockpiling sleepy eyes? T-Mac, Supercollider, Monroe... Maybe Joe is preparing a move for Paris Hilton as I'm writing this.

    When I looked...I looked...sadly down.

This whole piston organization needs to react toward the real world! What individual (usually the lower non-organization thinker will get blamed) let this through the high (?) profile, non-descriptive piston hierarchy committee conveniently named: corporate people-oriented-projection (CPOP). Here is a question I asked myself...what was this image trying to presently project? Please note the presently.

    The present for me:
    1. A sleepy-eyed (shiftless) object that has the past history of something that has adapted for survivability. Having lots of money does not make it less so.
    2. The profile of a pure athlete honed against the annals from Arnie's psychological flow-chart... complete with organic compounds. As opposites presented: the tummy is slightly protruded in expectation of the second trimester. Yes, we have gone downward. Eyes...mid-body to what? Oh, come on! It should be big, long and pointed upward!
    3. Give me the hammer!
What? Is this all there is (YouTube - Peggy Lee:Is That All There Is?)?

Guys, you better hang on tight and start understanding.

Just one pre-season game in, but CV looked the same as the old CV. He is a slow finesse player who can occasionally light it up on the offensive end.

Too weak to play the 4, too slow to play the 3, too dumb to play period.

I think we can rule out the pairing of Monroe and CG in the future. They might be past halfcourt by now.
