Detroit Pistons vs Boston Celtics Wednesday January 20 7:30 pm Local TV: FS Detroit Nat'l TV: Radio: 97.1 The Ticket
Celtics struggling without KG and have lost 2 in a row and four of their last six. Three of those games were without Garnett and Sheed. Sheed returned from an injury and played in last nights loss to the Mavs and scored 11 pts and had 3 boards. We can only help that his familiarity with our three point line is not there and he struggles just like he did his last few games in a Piston uniform. Our concern should be to reduce penetration from Rondo and don't let Big Baby get off on the inside like he has done in the past.
Our concern is getting healthy and then having the team play together long enough so we can get a really good run going after the all-star break. We're probably going to get killed by the C's right now.
Will Sheed get booed? Random thought: Some people think Rondo is a punk (myself included). But if we had traded for Rondo, would he have been considered a scrappy Isiah Thomas 2.0?
I hope Sheed doesn't get booed. He deserves better than that. I hate the Celtic's but I want Sheed to do well. I was always crazy about him and still miss him big time. Don't any of you guys? I miss him yelling 'Straight UP!' I miss his defense. I miss his pre game dance. I miss his interviews, I miss hearing 'SHEEEEEED' . I miss him arguing with the refs. I miss everything. I can't believe he can look down the bench and see Scalabrine ( don't know how to spell it) and that pos Rondo and another pos Big BAby and not think 'what a bunch of pos's I'm sittin' here with'. HOw can he not think that? He's supposed to be with us. I know you guys don't agree. I'm reminded of a sign at the Vet for the first game Reggie White played in Philly after he left and went to Green Bay. It said "We still love you Reggie, just not today" and I feel the same. Still love you Sheed, just not tomorrow night.
With Sheed, it was just a question of how much he was slowing down and losing energy. I think for the most part, the fans and forumites still like him and wish him well. He had more character than some whole teams have.
Maybe the same thing will happen to Sheed that happened to Billups when they played the Nuggets at the palace earlier this year. There is a better chance of that happening if the injured list would ever shorten up. Would love to see the win, but not expecting it. EXPECTING a good game though!!!! GO PISTONS!!!
I wouldn't boo Sheed. For me, his contributions in '04 outweigh all the stuff that happened after the fact. I got a lot of "entertainment" from Sheed.
Injury report from FSD pre-game: Will Bynum is currently targeting next Wednesday (January 27). Tayshaun says he feels a "twinge still". He needs to continue working out the next couple of days. He said he may be back Friday or Saturday. Ben Gordon said he was playing one-on-one with the guys yesterday and he felt sore today. Arnie told him he shouldn't be pushing it with one-on-one that quickly. He didn't mention a target date for a return.
Ohhh yeah. I like Sheed getting punked twice. I like Charlie V getting two great dunks. I like Charlie V hitting two huge 3's. Great D in the second half. Great win.
Superb game by Stuckey. He was the best player on the court, especially in the 2nd half. What I loved the best was his ball movement, court awareness and judgment. It's very hard to play the C's, but Stuckey handled their physicallness and high pressure, and we were always in control with him on the court. Very impressive.
