For those of you that said we should have played Rip last night.... Charlotte Bobcats vs. Detroit Pistons - Recap - February 02, 2011 - ESPN
:p_welldone: I love Ben Wallace, the guy has to stay out of the passing lanes.... I cringe whenever someone passes him the rock with less than 6-7 seconds because if he is not withing 6 ft of the bucket he is going to try the stylish fadeaway that misses everything.....then if he is foul he always shoots at least one that is wide left missing the bucket completely like he did last night,,,, As far as Daye is concerned, his has to learn to catch and shoot like CV...50% of the time its a disaster if he has put the ball on the floor first, as the shot is off or gets called for a travel, turnover etc...
It's almost like Q/Piston.org is saying that Rip only plays if Stuckey, White, and Bengo/TMac are injured??
you mean if all of them get hurt, we would sign Dupree to a 10 day contract and he plays before Rip gets on the court??? note to moderator...move to Rip, now what? thread
There were a couple of times last night where Gordon and I think Daye passed up open J's to get the ball to Ben W in the post.
Guess they haven't watched the many Piston tapes....never pass the ball to BigBen unless he is facing the hoop and does not have a defender within 10 feet of him.....
Dumb maybe, and certainly for CV utterly unmotivated. I've been watching him and he has Sheed like hands (don't throw things) when it comes to knocking the ball away from an opponent. He blocks pretty well and has nice knack for anticipating the pass. But, while Sheed turned it on depending on whom he was playing, CV just randomly cares. When he does, he's a good defensive big man. He just doesn't care to do it 90% of the time. Which of course makes him both a bad defensive big man and annoying.
Ask Sam | Sam Smith opens his mailbag | 02.04.11 | Bulls unhappy but not enough to demand a trade? Remember, dumars promised to him wins but so far only Dark Capp Matter is stacking, not wins.
I read that statement too, and said hmm. I mean, what did Joe say to Gordon when he signed him? You and Rip are going to be a great tandom? We have a great combo guard on the up and coming? You can play point have the time? We will trade Rip? Very confusing.
I remember Gordon talking about looking forward to handling the ball more and show off his playmaking skills etc when he first signed in. Maybe he thought he was going to be a backup PG or something. I wouldn't be opposed to shipping both Rip and Gordon if that somehow translates into getting a quality big (read: can score AND defend AND isn't kids' size).
IF we could get rid of Rip and Gordon, I'd be for signing Stuckey for 6-8 million a year. We would have to be in the hunt for a quality point guard after that, but if we could free up money to score a big, get him under contract, a point guard would come. Point guard by committee for a year with Stuckey, Bynum and White, it could be worse.
