This is so depressing. We're matching, and probably breaking the losing streak record. There ain't no way we can win on the road. We are so bad right now. Lee's probably right. Q won't play a meaningful rotation unless his hand is forced due to injuries. That's exactly how we ended with that one winning streak earlier in the fall. Oh well.
Summers needs to replace Atkins on the active roster. Could have used him today. This was a game I wanted to see Kwame play against Dalembert. We needed his size tonight and we didn't use it. Daye needs more minutes and JJ can't get a call for his life. He was getting abused by the officials on both the offensive and defensive end.
Detroit Pistons guard Ben Gordon scored the NBA's 10 millionth point - ESPN Being the nerd I am, I think this is really cool.
Geez, teams like the Knicks, Bulls and 6'ers are rolling up on the Pistons. Philly was a bucket of confetti from making this a Globetrotter v Generals affair. At least the Pistons have no cap room and no extra draft picks to look forward to. I can't even remember a malingerer like Rasheed Wallace staying on his stool for the 2nd half while his teammates went out to play. The play of the game to me was when the Pistons were pressing and CV went to pressure Thad Young who had the ball and blew by him and reached half court dribbling by the time Charlie crossed the free throw line. You can laud the comeback all you want, but I prefer to look at when both teams are playing. I really can't believe the ease that Philly beat them with. Who they got next?
This will undoubtedly be the only Piston highlight of the season unless they get the number one pick....
Back-to-back on the road against Chicago and Washington. Then come home to face the Hornets. After that 2 games against the Knicks before we play Celtics at the Palace. The home stand continues against Pacers, Portland, Grizz, Heat and Orlando which will wrap up January. We'll be streaking at 16 losses by the time we get to the Knicks. Looking at the rest of the games, and the way we've been playing, I don't see us winning more than 2-3 games for the rest of the month.
Rip, Ben, Tay and Max have shown in the past that while they talk about wanting to play uptempo and run, they won't committ to it; watch them. You know why JJ somehow manges to score 8-10ppg (if given mins) because he runs, runs, runs, EVERYTIME, never takes a play off, he may be the only player committed to that style of play and for that style to work you absolutely have to committ to it. All I got to say is that the leash on the starting unit is way too long, with guys like Bengo, CV, JJ, and Austin Daye sitting on the bench, if I don't see nothing happening in the first 5-6minutes of the game......YANK!!!! The starting 5 is given way too much time to prove they don't give a ish...... After 6 games back Bengo is shooting .397 from the floor. After 6 games back Rip is shooting .348 from the floor. Neither of them are shooting it straight, but Bengo has taken 78 shots compared to Rip's 112, at least Bengo is not literally shooting us OUT of ball games. Time to turn the page Joe, get a pick and/or cap space. If this 3 guard roatation BS is going to work it's going to work with 3 guards NOT 4! Move Rip and Tay for a Pick, Cap Space and really good backup SG that only needs about 15mpg to be effective, someone like, ummm, someone like the GUY WE EFFIN' GAVE AWAY TO DENVER!!!!!
We've gone from NBA Royalty to "hunting for scraps" in less than 2 seasons. Our projected win total now is at 26. Looks like the Pistons will once again finish the season with less wins than anybody could project here at PF. Really sad state of affairs when Philly runs you out of your own building. I agree. The comeback doesn't count. That was just Philly taking PITY on us.
I feel relieved. POs are out of question - realistically, for projected 8th seed - little below .500, I guess, they have to win remaining games at 2-1 ratio. Won't happen. No need to catch "it" during rebuilding phase. Dumars has no choice than try to trade certain players, although those are burdened with longterm contracts. Q's job is safe, IMO.
ONCE again, AI shows why everyone thinks he's a lil cissy-punk! He basically said last year that he'd never play in the Palace again. I guess he was REALLY serious! ....what a loser
The value of my NBA League Pass dropped to zero. The season is over as i see a team that wont even win the 35 games I predicted. The days of banners in the Palace are over. It was a good run, but welcome to the post-BadBoy days. No teamwork...no cohesiveness...no backbone....no confidence This is the worst season in Detroit sports history. Lions, Wolverines, Spartans in football...13-30.. Wings in hockey....8th or 9th seed Tigers in baseball...biggest choke ever Pistons ...12 game losing streak WOlverine bball...8-7, was preranked 15th sigh....Charlie brown is so lucky.
Yup. Toss the local economy into the mix and it adds to the misery. The only thing that could be worse is if the great lakes turned to salt water.
I couldn't help but notice that there is a Morton Salt factory in Manistee, Michigan. What's up with that? Makes very little sense to me, UNLESS it is a packaging plant and they are bringing the salt there through the St. Lawrence Seaway...But why in Manistee? Why not in Boyne, and say 200 miles of shipping?
