Dumards thinks that people who think it's important to have a pure point guard have "antiquated" thinking. Joe Dumars: Positions are 'antiquated' | Full-Court Press - A Detroit Pistons Blog - MLive.com
Well Joe's not giving up the Kid, but the questions remains...why didn't you just select Wade when you had the chance?
I'm a big Stuckey fan and want to see him running the point, but am starting to become a little split on this now. It wasn't the first time he's driven and missed a wide open player either, I saw him do it a couple of games back. It's worth noting though, that for the majority of the time Rip and Tay have been out, and while the Stuck was running the point, the movement on offence has been horrible. This, coupled with having to be the main scorer, wouldn't have helped. It has only been in the last few games that the offencive movement has been much much better (probably due in part to Stuckey playing at the 2), so I would like to see him back at the point when Rip and Tay are back helping to get that offence flowing before I make up my mind. In either case, I think he can play both spots well - and while he may be lacking what he needs to run the offence at the moment, he may just need more time to learn that aspect of his game. One of my other favourites, Billups, was considered a shoot first guard probably more suited to SG and turned into a premier PG over time.
Oh and happy to be back on the winning end again. After getting to watch four losses, the last two wins have been worth the DL. JJ is fast becoming a favourite and you can see what Daye is going to bring - both going to be very handy players. Agree on the point made about Gordon sitting for a while, and it could maybe be extended to Bynum as well I think. His floater and outside shot seem to have gone missing from the end of last year and he has become pretty one-dimensional - his pump fakes don't draw anybody up because he isn't hitting them and then he can't blow by either. Hope he gets back into some form though, another favourite (I have a few on the Pistons haha). And can someone tell me why the Palace is so EMPTY at the moment?! Didn't they have a record run of sell-outs up until last season? Is it the lack of wins, GFC, game times, combination of all?
smart..... i'll give you one, but he's already so we can't actually add him :P let me know when you get that cloning machine done, i have a few other players i'd like cloned.
I read somewhere that this season Pistons ranked No. 8 in League Attendants, not too bad for a rebuilding team
See, I was thinking the same thing, that the stands appeared to be empty. So I went and checked the attendance numbers, and they are on par with the last few seasons, which got me even more confused? How do they count attendance? Tickets sold, tickets checked in, what? Because I havent seen ANY full stands all season, but the attanedance numbers are always around capacity.
The NBA has to fudge the numbers because they can't attract advertisers otherwise. The TV numbers would be interesting as well.
