That's some good news out of Pistons land.

    We needed that.

I like Terry Porter. Two times in the Finals, and a damn fine NBA guard. All-Star, 124 playoff games under his belt.

    As a player

    As a coach

Did you know Ron Harper has 5 rings? FIVE RINGS.

Dennis Rodman also has 5 rings, but I wouldn't want him as my coach!

Roscoe, I got my contest prizes yesterday. They are very cool. Thanks. This forum rocks!!

Good pickup. I wasn't that impressed with Porter when he was head coach and I don't exactly know what his area of expertise is as an assistant, but he automatically has the respect of the players and has experience.

Good move by the Pistons. I like TP, too. Maybe he can tell Flip how stupid he is.

Hopefully TP will bring motivation to the Pistons and bring in other things that Flip and the other Piston coaches don't have.

You know, I don't dislike Porter, but he's just another offensive guy. He's not bad, but he's not going to help the problem either.

It's like having a party with beer and pizza. You run out of beer, but every guy that shows up just brings another pizza. It's not a bad thing, it's just not solving the problem.

Porter was a good defender. I think he averaged 2 steals a game. Old school.

His second season in Milwaukee would have gone better if TJ Ford was healthy and they didn't have to play musical chairs at PG.

Great move. Nice insurance for when Flip flops.

Hey Roscoe, time to add another option to your best offseason move poll!

I'm in agreement with you FP. But I was really holding out for Laimbeer after he & the Shock get another title in the next week & a half :ohwell: Who knows? Maybe Joe will hire him too...I certainly can't see a downside to it...unless I was Flip.

Yes indeed. He should not have been fired at all. TJ made a large difference with the bucks this year AND they got bogut. He got shafted big time

I thought Porter's Bucks played us tough in the first round in 04. Sooner he becomes HC the better, so we can figure out if Porter's a keeper or get a new guy

Hack, why post anti-Flip comments in every thread? Okay, you don't like him. We figured that out.

the other good thing about porter in my mind has always been he scrapped his way to the pros (came from Univ. of Wisconsin - Stevens Point; more or less like someone playing their college ball at UM-Flint or UM-Dearborn; no red carpet treatment for him) that's can't a team that needs to remember hunger).

Look at from Bad Boy Bill's prospective.

He gets to spend all day and night at work with women. Why would any healthy hetrosexual male trade that for spending time with guys?
