Dwight Howard's Superman dunk was pretty spectacular

Are the networks now going to be referring to Dunkin Dwight as Superman?

    Probably

Well there is only one way to beat Superman and that is with Kryptonite.

We better find some by playoff time, otherwise ........

Just need to re-paint the free throw line with whatever color kryptonite is :)

That dunk was ridiculous though, in fact, all of his were. I also cracked up at Green's cupcake dunk

I thought the cupcake dunk was the second best compared to the Superman dunk.

With the cape he actually looked like he was flying and he thew the ball down and in from about 3 feet from the basket. I guess they consider it a dunk since he thew it downward.

I allways thought that to be dunk your hand or hands had to be over the cylinder, but I guess not.

Put the kryponite above the hoop where the cupcake was or like fwoo said, paint the rim green:)

Maybe we can put some on the back of the glass and spray it on him when he takes off.

I think Sheed should bring a cupcake back for AJ so he can practice for next year's contest. Hold on, the cupcake will probably be eaten by then.

    Jamario moon was robbed.

His takeoff was beyond the freethrow line....so what? So was Dr J's so was Jordans.

Moon did the same darned dunk with a lob, he should have at least gotten 1 extra lousy point and a dunk off with green. I contend that the dunk contest final would have been three times as exciting with Moon in there with Howard than with Gerald Green.

Jamario was robbed. Plain and simple. I was slightly disappointed after he was eliminated

I was totally amazed by Dwight's first 3 dunks. To me, they go down in history as being on par with Spud, Michael, DW, Carter, etc.

Green actually got ripped off on that cupcake dunk I say. That was pretty creative.

Part of the scoring has to do with creativity.

Putting on the Superman costume and then doing that dunk was extremely creative.

I think that Dwight should have dunked a ball while giving a cheerleader a piggy back ride on his final attempt.

And I really think that it would have been possible.

    Yea sure.

Noone has ever put on a Superman costume before.

    :pound:

Every person on this forum has pretended to be Superman at some point in time during their childhood. That is about as unoriginal as it gets.

Reggie miller wore a Superman T-Shirt in what 3 point shootout? During what playoff run?

Shaq wore a superman shirt in what nba finals?

Howard aint the first guy. No points for him. I dont care how many people have forgotten the past.

In a sad commentary on the role that skin color plays in a child's development, I had to be Batman, because I couldn't fool myself that my "just brown enough to not be Caucasian" skin would make me a believable Superman. :)

Batman was cooler anyways. DHo should have dunked wearing a utility belt.

We need to either draft or trade for a player with the last name Green to stand next to Howard all game.

Perhaps a Flip Murray for Gerald Green trade? Common Joe, Git R Done!

I think you forgot the blue part.

Based on the blue part Howard's superman shot was not a dunk.

How can you A) manually power the ball downward through the rim if you don't B) have a hand above the rim? You're saying that he did A, but now B?

His head was above the rim!

Kareem rarely touched the rim on his early dunks. He just sort of threw them down.

I might agree if it was only the shirt, but you gotta admit that the cape was a pretty cool touch!

Also the superman-esque way that he flew through the air and threw down a dunk that no other human being is capable of reproducing... with a successful alley oop to himself, and on his first try... from the exact spot where he put the tape down on the floor.

Too bad Bill Laimbeer was never in the dunk contest.
