Curry conditioning Pistons for successful season - Detroit Pistons Basketball: News, Blogs, Photos, Audio, Schedule & Stats - MLive.com

    I love this. :pound:

What I find hilarious is the title of this video.

"CURRY SEEKS ULTIMATE LEVEL OF CONDITIONING"

What happened to this phrase putting the coach in the doghouse?

Apparently, this means that all Curry cares about is what happened on the offensive end.

At least that's what it meant when Flip said the exact same thing.

When Mike Curry says it, the words are coming from the future HOF coach of the year.

    I.....don't get it.

Get used to seeing alot more similarities than differences between the former and current Pistons coach this year.

Well, with all what was said about Flip, he was given 3 years chance. Let us give Curry few months to see what he can do. I will wait.
At least he is playing the youngesters.

His strategy makes sense to me. He's working them out hard and didn't let up before the game. Tired legs don't make jump shots. This will pay off later when we go 10 deep, spread the minutes, and everyone is in the shape of their lives. Especially in a 7 game series.

I think the Spurs just have a way of making a team look like crap.

It will be interesting to see the minutes and rotations uder Curry once the actual season starts. The young guys saw lots of action in the preseason under Saunders.

I wouldn't blame Curry for them not making shots. They just couldn't get any shots. We've seen games before when Rick Carlisle and when Larry Brown was our coach when they had off nights. We just couldn't get the ball in the hoop and also I think with Max not playing until the 2nd half really impacted the game.

To me I keep track of how close the missed shots were and go on that basis. Many of the missed shots early in the game were bricks...but as the game progressed the missed shots looked much better.

I even think some of the missed shots were intended to be passes.

I recently committed to play in a fantasy hoops league for my first time ever.
Does anyone know if the AOTG stat is an official scoring category?

I agree. Most experts agree that you can't truly evaluate an NBA head coach until he has coached at least 6 to 7 preseason games.

I agree with Cloud. I am officially off the Curry bandwagon. This was no coach of the year performance.

    Have a nice day.

Exactly. And i expected posts like this, but before Curry''s even coached a REGULAR season game?!?

Shots not falling because they have tired legs legs working their butt off in practice, and shots not falling because they're lolly gagging and/or taking bad shots are too entirely different things.

And i haven't read any of the articles yet, but it seems like Curry took some blame. When has Flip ever done that?

    edited to add;

a little OT, but Pop is a great coach. You can tell that the system is fundamentally really effective, the way they can plug in random players.

    The truth is somewhere betwee.

He's, in all likelyhood, not COY material, nor is he Flip Saunders.

And has a really cool beard. I'm pretty sure there was some beard jealousy. Every time a Pistons' player took a shot Pops would turn his head and flash the do. I know that would have distracted me.

If Larry wasn't insane, we would have had a tremendous system as well.

For the record, the OP in this thread was hardly a slam on Curry.

I am merely pointing out a fan inconsistency.

The very first time "not Larry Brown" (guy we loved, won 'Ship) came out with "we missed shots" he was tarred and feathered for only caring about the offensive end of the floor.

Now we have "not Flip" (guy we loved to hate, won squat) so the pendulum has swung to the far opposite side.

    I find that entertaining. :)
