Believe it or not, making jumpshots is part of basketball.

Missing them is a bigger part of it.

Especially Deeetroit basketball, when the opponents know they can stop us by sagging back into a zone and daring our guys to jack it up. That, or charge into a triple team for a turnover.

We might not be able to win in the playoffs with zone D, but it's been our downfall for years on the other end of the floor.

    Go figure.

And that what pisses me off! I hate when we get beat by team that play that sucky zone crap. Luckily, we have Rodney Stuckey and Amir Johnson that makes team break up that zone sh**. Rodney sees the holes in it and Amir can get up the floor and get to in his "sweet spot" (under the basket).

I thought they beat us because they pressed out on our jumpshooters and dared us to go inside, which we failed to do. Why would you dare the best jump shooting team in the NBA to shoot open J's?

You should watch that Boston series again.

They were just surrounding the painted area on defense.

Every post attempt led to an immediate double/triple team since, literally, the help guy was already standing there sagging off his man.

I know you cats were too busy being upset, but I made references to it repeatedly in chat.

    You wouldn't.

Now the Detroit Pistons, on the other hand......

Well, then I guess Flip used the right strategy and we just plain missed shots.

I think there is a diffence between flips we missed shots... the same shots we took 3 years ago in game one of preseason as we do in game 6 of the ECF, and having a bad shooting night because were running our butts off getting in game shape.

We were so predictable it was easy to defend us.... read an article this morning talking about just that. how were trying to focus on one thing one quarter and going to another in the next quarter keep shaking it up so the defence can't get comfy.

If we do that, then i'll be happy....

every team has a night they can't throw it in the ocean... but if they are good shots that we want, and not bad shots the defense wants us to take.... i'll be happy.

I think I actually have games 5 and 6 on my DVR still.

If my car breaks down, my golf game gets cancelled, and none of my friends call me back, maybe I'll go review the games this weekend.

They packed the paint on the weakside, but stayed tight on the strongside if I recall. I vividly remember the announcers remarking on KG following Sheed out to the 3 line on screen/pops allowing Billups to score.
