Playing with Chris Wilcox just might change that.

I hope to get excited about this pick up. Three months ago I would had been very excited. However, I am still feeling the sting from the "I told you how they are" statement. I wish he would come out and say that he didn't say that.

I don't think anyone in the history of basketball has ever made that statement....about anything.

However, if he DID say that...how would that change anything? If he came out and said he didn't say that, wouldn't that A)not make a difference to any of his haters and B) make him a liar which would in turn make him "not a good person," thus once again making him ineligible to be a member of the Pistons organization?

My point is this, if he said it.... I don't want him here. It means he is only here because he had nowhere else to go. Notice the wording " I told you...." meaning he had tried to discourage the remaining players in the past.

I also think there is potential for him to become very disgruntled. How will he react when those around him are not playing great defense and his skills don't allow him to make up the ground. Will his attitude become toxic?

With that said.....I think I will just believe he didn't say it. Maybe I am different, but I love the franchise more than the players. Players come and go, but I will be a Piston fan forever. However, you always want the greats to go out the right way.

I talk a lot of junk about how the Pistons are run, and yet many think I am a big time homer.

I'm not worried about what Ben did or did not say, if Joe is not worried about it. I realize Ben is going to help sell tickets in what many will consider a rebuilding season. This is a good way to close out the going to work era. No disrespect to the other guys, but Ben was the embodiment (pun intended) of that ethic and that style.

WE GOT BEN WALLACE 1.0 back!

Even though he's like 0.4 at the moment...until Kander uses bananas for him.

This "I told you..." folk is committing very typical fan mistake: overanalysing media trash: usually ripped apart from context, not knowing the tone( jokingly, cynically)etc.
