It sounded all along like he was BSing, but this transcript still makes him look really dumb.

Dumars has been lying to us for years.

This goes back to the, "Dumars Has DONE Nothing" thread. Like I said in the off-season, I equate Joe to the salesman that is ALWAYS chasing a lead, taking calls, 'doing lunches', but is NEVER actually closing a sale.

We need somebody here who can close the deal and apparently Joe is no longer that GM!

I wonder if he is intentionally tanking so that the Davidson's won't be able to get a lot of suitors. Then, his boy Tom Wilson can come back into the front office when Illitch eventually makes the sale and maybe Illitch will open up the check book?

Either way I think it is inexcusable for Joe D to be deliberately lying and then not taking any ownership of the teams current failures, because it goes against what I originally thought of the guy. That he was a character guy, and that he was focused on winning.

I think, it is a huge overspeculation; this is a typical fan mistake - to see conspiracies and omnius signs everywhere.

In fact - Dumars simply has no tools for trade. But never say no. That's what Dumars did. He knew that chances are small but don't close the door.

I don't think tads speculation is so far off. It is like The Brady Bunch episode when the kids made the house seem haunted so that no one would buy it when Mike and Carol wanted to move.

I would not doubt it. There is no one at the helm right now, Current owner could care less about the team.

This is the episode that has called into question Mike Brady's sensibilities as an architect. Why, for example, did he build two bedrooms with a single Jack-and-Jill style bathroom for six children?

I guess the Brady Bunch episode this reminds me of is the one where Marcia promises everyone that Davey Jones is going to play at the high school dance....Joe (much like Marcia) is promising something he may not be able to deliver. On a postive note, Marcia was able to get Davey Jones to play at the dance and hopefully Joe will be able to pull something similar off for the Pistons.

That Dumars comments doesn't seem weird to me.

    "So, there's nothing (for sure)?"

    "No, there's nothing (for sure)."

That's how it sounds to me.

Did Mike design that house? I did not know that.

He may make mistakes but he always corrects them - press exert after the Darko trade.

I'd take GWall over Tay any given day and TT would be great but is expexted to be the player least likely to be dealt. Thoughts?

Well Wallace is a monster, that is for sure! TT would be an upgrade over Max IMO.
