Gee, Cap'n Jack misbehaving - inconceivable. GW is a player though, and fits in nicely with the Wallace name lineage.
It would be nice if this deal could include one or both of our veterans somehow. Nets structuring new deal for Anthony - NBA - Yahoo! Sports
We need toughness and defense back. Other teams should not have fun playing against Detroit, even if they beat us.
I like this one: NBA Trade Machine - ESPN But Charlotte gets short end of the stick. Picks and/or young talented players would need to be added in to make this work.
You may like it but believe me when I tell you that Jason Richardson sure as hell doesn't like it. Tay+Daye is a very steep price for Gerald Wallace IMO. My latest trade challenge is to somehow work a deal where we can turn Rip into Zac Randolph, the premise is that we can basically give Zac an extension with the same money we were going to pay Rip over the next few seasons, needless to say I'm having trouble figuring out a scenario that Memphis would bite on.
You're going to have to elaborate on that one. Do you think that Daye is going to be better than Wallace? That (Rip -> ZBo) is a great scenario. It'll probably have to be a 3-team deal at least though as I doubt we have anybody that Memphis would want.
This is kind of interesting, a team wanting CV and BG: Could We Use Joe Dumars Epic Fail For Our Long Term Gain?? - Sactown Royalty
I won't give Charlie V and Ben Gordon just for LAndry and Dalembert.. at least we need some draft picks
both landry and dalembert have been dissapontments there... on the other hand, charlie plays now at the acceptable level...( pretty close to projected 15 and 7) Landry and dalembert for gordon and maxiell makes sense - all suckers
The problem with Gordon is its such of a bad contact. CV at least is earning his keep as long as he produces off the bench ( which he has shown that he can do ). I don't know what kind of contracts those other guys are on but if we can move Gordon that would be great.
The fact that CV and BG both have outside shooting as a strength makes them valuable entities as long as you have a PG that can drive and dish or a player that can demand double-teams to get your shooters some easy looks. Getting rid of Rip and Tay should be priority #1. If you have to package another player with them to make it happen, then so be it (as long as it isn't my man Jerebko).
They should really only give up a player to get rid or Rip (or Gordon). Tay can leave at the end of the year and the Pistons should have $11 million or so that they can hold on to until the team is sold or Joe can spend on another stiff.
So Sac fans see the need for change. This team is worse than we are and we have the victory over them to prove it. Sac isn't going to win this year, they're headed for the lottery, they're going to lose Landry at the end of this horrible season, and they really need some sort of consistency on their team as well as a veteran presence, so I propose the following: NBA Trade Machine - ESPN Memphis gets a good PF, good scoring guard in their rotation, Xavier henry is going to take a while. Memphis has a 3 guard rotation of Conley, Rip and OJ (Combo Guard) Mayo. They do this trade because it'll give them bird rights on a good young PF (Landry) who can play beside Gasol and is not going to cost them over $10M/yr. Getting rid of Rip and Tay allows Austin Daye to finally see the floor and it accommodates JJ's return.
In that deal, doesn't Sacramento essentially trade Landry for a half year rental on a team already out of the playoff picture? Plus what is the incentive for Memphis to add Rip's long contract to a team that only has young players on the books past this year and still needs to extend Gasol?
