It's official: Rasheed Wallace joins Detroit Pistons as assistant coach - ESPN
Long live roscoe36!
Dude is non-stop talking in his first summer league game. It's mostly encouraging his teammates, with the occasional questioning the referee, if you can believe that.
Ball don't lie !
It also looked like he was pointing out some things for the players. He has been known to take younger players under his wing and help them grow.
Sooooo happy he's back I can't tell you how much I've missed him. I actually had to root for the freakin' Celtics when he was there, then was rooting for NY, kind of hard to root for teams you can't stand, when you only care for one guy...
You're correct. He was talking to players and encouraging them to work hard. I even saw him running the huddle to begin the 2nd half.

Some Tweets from Vince Goodwill after talking with Sheed today: Sheed: "It would be a shame if I passed away and wasn’t able to pass that on, to my sons or to any other ballplayer who wants the knowledge." He credited his high school coach, Bill Ellerbe, for giving him the basis of knowledge and know-how of the game. Very introspective On his emotions: "I was playing and had that passion and cussing everybody out, I had the opportunity to change that being on the court." More: "I can’t make the difference now. I can talk junk but I can’t back it up." Sheed: "Being on the sideline you try to be more motivation, inspiration for the kids."
Smart move. He will at the very least bring some excitment to the team. Who was the last assistant coach to do that? You have to go back to Herb Brown.
Sheed said he had a chance to be on Mike Woodson's staff, but his kids are still in Detroit. That had a lot to do with his decision.
NewI was thinking Wayne Fontes - Defensive Coordinator - Detroit Lions
Without the hugging.
Maybe he will get promoted to Associate Head Coach after a couple of months... I mean when Mo get tossed, who do you want running the team, Sheed or that loser Brian Hill? OK don't answer as Sheed will probably get tossed before Mo...
Maybe Gar Heard... but not THIS kind of excitement! I hope he has a long and successful career as a head coach some day. In the meantime, I'm hoping that his first season will put him in the Hallway Coach Hall of Fame.
