I know Point Guards take a while to develop, but last summer, were we too high on him?

I know he'll become a decent/big point guard, but were we?

I voted yes but I thought you were asking if I was too high.

I don't think so. I was never high on his shooting ability. What excited me about him was his ability to drive, his toughness and his poise. None of that has changed for me.

Hard to determine until he's had time to bounce back.

It is one thing to perform when you are unknown and against teams bench players. It is another thing to perform when teams have tape on you and know what you are about. The biggest problem Stuckey has is that he is playing out of control and tries to force the play too much. Hopefully with the proper coaching he will get better.

Yes. Need a sense of proportion about some things that time may develop. Look around at some true PG and some indications may help as a model on what you want.

I didn't think Stuckey was ready to start. But the team hasn't asked him to. Other than the CB-can't-find-my-way stint, he's come off the bench. And though I haven't look objectively at the stats, doesn't seem to be playing as well as the end of last year.

Maybe he got a little cocky, more likely other teams got a little smarter and prepared for him. He's getting blocked more not because he's slower, but because teams are prepared for him to blow by guys and drive. Baby needs a new trick.

I don't think we were too high on the kid, just underestimated Billups impact slightly.

Cream rising to the top in Denver stats-wise.
Denver Nuggets NBA stats and data from 82games.com

CB now has the highest production, the biggest production differential between him and the man he's guarding, the highest on court +/-, and the highest roland rating (tied with Nene). He's only 1 point behind Carmello in scoring average and 0.2 behind AI, even thought he doesn't take nearly as many shots.

The Nuggs are playing at a faster tempo than us still (95 offensive possession vs. 89 for us this year, and 87 for us last year), so it looks like he wasn't the reason for the slow pace.

This also makes me look at Jason Kidd. People thought he's too old, yet is still being productive. PGs stay good throughout their careers. More turnovers, but yet still is giving 8.4 apg at 35 years old!

Joe should have traded for Kidd if he wanted a 20 mil expiring.

If it's the expiring he was looking for, then Joe did the right thing b/c of the McDyess swindle.

If he was trying to get something back, then I agree that nabbing Kidd would have been great. He's a true PG who plays defense. Kidd is having a pretty good shooting year for some reason this year with an eFG of .569. Shooting over 55% on jump shots.

Although losing CB hurts, part of the problem really is that AI isn't what we hoped he would be so far. His scoring average is way down, he's turning the ball over, he's not making the other players around him better. It is still very possible that all of these things can improve.

We never thought that Stuckey is ready to take CB's place. The trade did not take place because we thought Stuckey is ready to step up. AI's one year contract, and AI's ability to have superstar nights and superstar calls were the drive for the trade.

Remember, Stuckey is not starting games.

Yes but George Karl has never had much success in the playoffs. Its not a system for that. He is more Flip than Flip was.

He's so flippish that I'd say Flip is a Karl.... lol

I'd rather have flip back then to have Karl coach my teams, atleast Flip loses in the conference finals....
