I would love to get a guard like Vazquez in DET to play off the bench. I won't hold my breath.

Yea, don't do that. It could prove fatal, especially if you're really good at it.

Yep, that really hurt them. And I think Vasquez both got them back into the game and really hurt them in the subsequent overtimes. He couldn't run the offense and kept dribbling into the teeth of the defense again and again. He's a circus shot maker though.

The Lakers are going to have a hard time closing this series out without Bynum for the next five games.

Westbrook doing his best supercollider impression to start the game off...:)

Go Memphis! Memphis is what Detroit should be right now. Tough blue collar defensive minded... I want them to win it all.

Good effort by the Grizzlies, but the speed and shooting of Westbrook and Durant, along with the x factor play of harden and the defense of Perkins and Ibaka was to much for Zach's gang. Maybe Rudy Gay would have made a difference..???..

Anyway they gone fishing with Elvis....:fish2:

This was a great series. The Grizz are for real, and finally there is some glimpse of success for that miserable franchise. The fans must be ecstatic.

Just think.....they survived losing the likes of Kevin Love, Pau Gasol, AI and Darko the last three years and still came within a game of getting into the WCF....:sssh:

Dirk dropped 48 on the Thunder, including a playoff record 24 straight free throws. He was a perfect 24/24 from the line. The guy was unstoppable. If he keeps on playing like that there's no stopping Dallas. Almost every OKC player took a turn guarding, or rather failing to guard, Nowitzki. It was a brilliant performance.

OKC is still dangerous as they scored a lot of points and Durant had 40.

Still, go Dirk! So, I can choose a reeeeeeally nice avatar for CloudWalker. :stirthepot:

48 points on 15 shot attempts??? That could be the most efficient scoring game of all time. Seems as though nobody has ever scored more points with 15 or fewer FGA.

    Dirk has peaked.

I know! This was by far the best I've seen him play in a long time. He kept on posting up and Dallas fed him the ball almost every posession. He was nothing short of brilliant.

Dirk averaged over 3 points per attempt without scoring a single 3 and he did it by shooting contested one-legged turnaround fadeaways instead of dunks and layups. :pound:

Seems to be the most efficient 40-point playoff game in NBA history.

OKC evened the series at 1-1 last night. Dallas was off to a great start and up by 11, when Durant did this:
Thunder vs. Mavericks | Western Conference Finals | 2011 NBA Playoffs | NBA.com

Watch his head in the closeup. It is level with the hoop. That was dunking over 7' Haywood.

After that OKC came alive and took the game. They did a good job defensively on Dirk, though he still played a very good game.

The drama came in the second half where Westbrook did a few stupid things in the 3rd and coach smacked him and sat him down to send Eric Maynor in. Then in the 4th Scott Brooks proved that he had balls and Westbrook sat out the entire 4th period. The reserves were more than Dallas can handle though, especially Harden.

Dallas can score certainly, but they have been unable to defend OKC. They need someone else to step up besides Nowitzki or they'll be coming home facing a 1-3 climb.

I always thought someone should do a dunk like that in the dunk contest... i.e. posterize the assistant.
