i think slippy was just trying to help keep to the actual topic, seeing as there are already so many topics to do with darko.

i could probably start a thread on cheeseburgers and it would end up a discussion on darko.

Very interesting what has been said about Pistons DNA. One thing is certain, DNA is something you are born with. It can`t be acquired, or taught. It is a part of you, it defines who you are as a person, and a Piston.

Having said that, when a player becomes a Piston if he displays the characteristics of Piston DNA, then it is a "Piston DNA HIT"!!

Now let`s define what Piston DNA is.

Piston DNA is first and foremost a fierce desire to win despite what people say, do, and think of you. One must be willing to never give up, and come to work (game & practice ) ready to compete day in and day out.

One must also, however, not necessarily be despised, disliked, and mildly to obssesively hated, yet be welcomed to an opposing team if the oppurtunity presented itself.

One can aslo be drafted late in the first round, or perhaps the second round, yet shows an uncanny abilty to play team basketball, and fill any role asked of him.

Last but not least, one must understand that defense is just as important as offense, and without it you will not stay a Piston very long.

So, does this current squad meet the criteria presented for Piston DNA?

I can`t wait to see, the verdict is out...........

    Pistons DNA? Widely misunderstood

First identified in Bad Boy's Zeke, Laimbeer, Joe Dumars, and Rick Mahorn. Later seen in such athletes like Dennis Rodman and the JYD.

Can be gained (Sheed and Darko) can be lost (Big Ben and Rodman)

What it is: Highly skilled, tough, take no crap, do anything to win, team first, stats last, players.

What it isn't: Overachieving, charlie hustle, low skilled, coach suckup, NBA players.

Pistons still w/ DNA: Darko, Delfino, CB, Tay, Dice, Sheed, LH, JYD, Mahorn, Laimbeer, Isaiah, Joe D, Chuck D, John Salley, Buddha, and Doug Collins.

Pistons w/out (now or always): Ben, Mo Evans, JMax, Darvin Ham, Mehmut Okur, Carlos Arroyo, Michael Curry, Uncle Spliffy, Bison Dele, Alan Houston, Grant Hill, Rodman (was the definition of, now the definition of what isn't), Kelly Tripucka, Kent Benson, Larry Brown, Ron Rothlissomething.

Remember, talent is a part of Piston's DNA. And if anyone thinks JMax works and Darko doesn't look at their current pix. Jmax looks like Tractor Traylor, and Darko looks like Dolph Lundgren from Rocky. Somebody tell JMax to put down the dougnuts and get his butt into the weight room.

But Darko has more Pistons threads than anyone with the DNA in their body.

    Me either.

Btw, Basketbills your "cap" post was too funny. Say what you want about bballjay but you have to admit that he is consistent and not afraid to buck the trend as it pertains to his opinions. I think he is wrong a lot, but I respect his opinions nonetheless. :)

Yep. Jay is wrong often, but sometimes what he says seems right on the money although it isn't the popular opinion.
