Both Brady and Eli played below average as the defenses got after them. Glad we stuck with these two teams.....................
I like the matchup for the Super bowl...........new England against the NY Giants. I'm feeling pretty good about my picks so far, having chosen 8 of 10 correctly. I did pick the Lions against the Saints which was a loser........and Pittsburgh over Denver. Otherwise............I've done well. Anyways..........let's look at the numbers over at picks.com. We have.........1362/2056 for a correct percent of 0.662 They have ......1491/2260 for a correct percentage of 0.660 Let's say they get all 8 correct this coming weekend........they would have 1499/2268 for a % of 0.6609 We'd win if we don't play.........but we wanna play.......... Let's say they get all correct and we have a disaster weekend.....and go 3 and 5........... We'd have 1365/2064 for a correct percentage of 0.6613.........we'd still win. We lose though if they go 8 of 8 and we go 2 of 8 or worse...........at 2 0f 8, we'd end up at 1364/2064. or...........0.6608........compared to their 0.6609, at all correct...........so we still can lose.
Patriots 3 point favorites over Giants. Who do I root for ? Or which team do I root against the most. Well, all real Eagles fans hate the Giants. But i'm so sick of the Patriots. I do like patriots owner Robert Kraft. Seems like a nice dude (for a billonaire), and he convinced the owners to end the lockout. Sadly, his wife, who was loved by the team, passed away toward the end of the process. So it's nice that his team is there. But I think the Giants owner was the #2 owner responsible for getting other owners to end the lockout. I don't dislike Brady except because he always wins and he is a of m product. I can't stand their coach, Belichik. But still..rooting for Eli and the Giants? Even though it maybe makes the NFC East look a bit better. I guess, at least for now, I will root for the Patriots.
Brady doesn't always play well in the big playoff games. He'll need a big game against the Giants if his team is destined to win. Eli Manning had a very good year and his team seems to have flip the switch to the "on" position. Brady has done enough during his career to insure a HOF ticket already....he's 34 and should pile up some big numbers during his remaining years. Belichik also is a lock for the HOF, based on his record with New England. I've always felt sorry for the Giants coach, as he seems to be on the hot seat. He's changed his style of coaching over the years to better suit his players. I don't concern myself with owners, unless they own the Detroit teams. A positive for Brady is that he went to UM. A negative is that he didn't marry Bridget Moynahan, who I happen to think is an extremely attractive woman.........and the mother of his child. Anyways......I like both QBs, teams, and coaches..........so my pick shouldn't be biased. Just not ready to make a decision yet.............
Early Picks has NE at 60% and Giants at 40%......... Gronk is wearing a boot today after an injury during Sunday's game........ Patriots NEED him if they wanna win........ Still trying to pick a favorite..........Giants have........... Manningham and Baas from Michigan........ Devin Thomas and Greg Jones from MSU... Patriots have......................................... The Golden Boy and Zoltan Mesko from Michigan...... They also have Brian Hoyer from MSU.........................
New England will win this matchup........Brady comes through......... New England Patriots 31 New York Giants 28
Fellas, nice comeback in the picks game. I don't know if we have a chance to win still or not...but i'm trying to fire up the troops to take you guys down. Just signed up for the forum...maybe it will get me back watching some Pistons games.
You've had a nice year on the Picks........Congrats on winning the player award. leave the group award for us................... Welcome to the PF group.........
Thanks good year for you too. I just joined up with the DetroitBoard because I knew a few names from waaay back when the Lions had a message board on their official site. Ah, the good old days. I jush wish I would have used my same picks in the $ pool I'm in each week. About half way thru I decided I better double up and won a few bucks. I do love the Pistons, just haven't had the time to watch over the past year or two. Got to make that happen.
Congratulations on the individual award, Keweenaw. We are always happy to see someone keep nemo in his proper place. The battle for the group title is amazingly close with only one week left to go. I haven't cared too much about the Pistons in a long time, but I hang around because this forum is very friendly and a whole lot of fun... even though it is run by a Cannuckian. But he is very sensitive so be careful never to make fun of him. Also, make sure to always spell his name ("Rascoe"), correctly.
Welcome to the forum, keweenaw. Make yourself at home. I still cannot believe that we were able to take the lead in the Picks Game the way we did. You guys have been a great team all year. Hope to see you around more.
Interesting........The New England Patriots are like the Lions in one aspect........... They have the longest drought since their championship.......of the 4 major sports teams in town. Lions are suffering from the same extended drought.......................... Now I don't feel so bad. Patriots won waaaaaaaaayyyyback in 2004. Red Sox won back in 2007 Celtics won in 2009 Bruins won in 2011 Makes me feel for Brady and the boys..........a hard luck story...............
Welcome to the forum, Keweenaw. Where are you at up there in God's Country? Had a lot of great times up there as a kid. Nice picks this season. Congratulations Best regards, food4thot (TPG)
Well geez most of the time I venture beneath the bridge people think I'm a canadian too....so we'll probably hit it off. Thanks for the congrats. Surprised myself actually.
