I remember back in the 80s......heading up to Houghton for winter carnival. It must have been a 16 hour drive through all the snow from the Detroit area. Had a nice time up there. We decided to go to the Gay Bar through all the snow. The place was empty........as it seemed the town had all left for the winter. Who dae....Who dae......Who dae think dae beat the Huskies..........Who Dae.........!!! Nice hockey town...
Went up there in the early 90's for a college conference.... was almost 60 degrees as we did a cleanup project in a park on sat afternoon, and we barely got out of town on sunday morning before a blizzard hit... Was a nice little town, though don't think I could stand that much winter....
I always get excited to see the Super Bowl commercials......... The one I look most forward to is the Priceline.com commercial where they kill off William Shatner in a firey blaze.......and then introduce their new spokesperson. The other commercial I want to see is the "Bark Side" commercial that is kind of a take-off of the Darth Tater car company commercials...............Watch for the greyhound.........
My dad and sister graduated from Michigan Tech. Sis was a cheerleader in the early 70's. According to her the MTU football fans (all 150 of them) enjoyed her teams performances, always yelling "Cartwheel! Cartwheel!". Dad played hockey there after WWII. Never been to MacInnes Arena. Supposedly there is an area with team pictures over the years, including his. Planning a trip up there this summer. Shooting for late August...roughly the middle of the 4 week season in the Keweenaw ;)
Nice to reminice........but I'm worried that Gronk won't be ready to play in the Big Game. Would like to see a clip of him practicing before I keep my choice in place.
This is pretty neat: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-s...-old-heart-melting-letter-kyle-214810120.html
