Do you have a second team you follow? Is it Darko and the Magic? Isiah Thomas and the Knicks? Maurice Evans and the Lakers? Memet Okur and the Jazz? Ben Wallace and the Bulls? Vote now!
I don't really have a 2nd favourite team in any sport. I'm a 1 team man. But if I had to choose 1, I'd say the Raptors.
I've always liked Orlando (before they "stole" Hill), and Seattle (dating to the 70's). I've always liked Phoenix and Utah a lot too. But right now I am a huge Arenas & Jamison fan. Plus it will totally irk Dlev so I say GO WASHINGTON! (Roscoe, Your mailbox is full so I can't send you a pm reply).
I'd have to go: Pistons Bulls Magic Jazz and then my interest level really drops off. If those teams weren't playing, I'd probably tune into the Lakers and root against Kobe. I guess the pattern is that I follow teams when the Pistons trade players and then like the teams more when I get to know them. Except, I've been in Chicago for 8 years now, so I've become a secondary Bulls fan just through going to games and watching them on local TV (before I got LP).
orlando is my # 2 team. they are on the rise. nba champs. it's interesting to watch a team rise from the ashes.
What a surprise. The Wiz Nooooo..... Eddie Jordan was really ticked at Agent zero`s one on one display against Kobe last night. The Wiz could have perhaps won that game if it wasn`t for Arenas and his selfish play. I noticed you were the only person that voted for the Wiz in your "EC Championship poll" I am leaning towrds the Rockets as my #2 team. If Yao can come back and play like he did before his injury and T-Mac stay healthy, I believe they could come out of the west. That is a huge IF though......
The Lakers (as a setting) always have the mystique of getting-giving continuing last changes (aka: go west young man). Youth, middle and old age are slightly ahead of your "big break". A place where we can keep our dreams as dreams.
I would have to say the Suns. They are fun to watch after a Pistons game late Friday or Saturday nights.
I really had to think on this. It wasn't easy shunning the star power of Smush Parker in LA or Uncle Spliffy in NJ. So it's the Raps, simply because I have a whole channel devoted to them. The "games in an hour" are pretty sweet. They cut out all the BS. So it's probably Raps, Spurs/Knicks, Sonics.
I picked the Sonics, because I get to see lots of their games here in Seattle. With the recent sale of the team, and the city referrendum against a new stadium, there are lots of interesting business subplots to keep you interested. They are also very active in the Greg Odom lottery quest. After the Pistons, I would say the Bulls are closest to my ideal basketball team.
Losers: L.A. Lakers ..... DetroitBasketball, pass99 ... 2 ... 6.90% My #2 team was so below the line of disinterest the team I hate the most actually registered higher.
To keep myself from being a fair-weather fan I limit myself in all sports to teams from 3 areas: Detroit (near where I grew up in Lansing/E.L.); NYC (where I lived after college and after grad school and met the wife); and SF/Bay Area (my current home err apartment and home of said grad school - Boalt). So I voted for Golden State, w/Knicks close behind. As far as who I most like to see on TV outside of those area's teams, I go with PHX.
I thought I had already had my say when I voted, but apparently I had another senior moment. It will come as no surprise to anyone that my second favorite team is the Magic. I know, you guys are completely bowled over.
