And lets not forget Mike Fratello and Brian Hill.

Guys, realistically, Bill Laimbeer is simply not ready to be a head coach of AN nba TEAM. I remember an interview with and about Bill's coaching style, with it being said that Bill's tactics wouldn't work with men. He's made the women cry on more than one occasion.

Why can't they have coach try outs? Why can't we see coaches scrimmaging in a summer league?

Good Lord. Brian Hill? Have we really sunk that far into the depths of despair?

Larry Brown made Smush Parker cry once.

I like the idea of coaching tryouts. Or maybe a multiple choice exam:

If you had Rip Hamilton and Allen Iverson on your roster and one could start and would would have to come off the bench what would you do?

I'm a Sam Mitchell fan, but he doesn't put up with any BS from his players. I'm pretty sure he challenged Vince Carter to a fist fight when they were in T.O.

    I think Cheeks is overrated.

This is all moot anyway. Tay and Rip should be picking the coach they want, because no one is going to succeed if they don't buy in.

Worm, dead on about Collins. I'd do an one year with option for next, thats it.

Collins has experience and a great feel for the game. I think he's got a better perspective now that he has been away from the sidelines for a few years. I think players will respect him and I think he would hold players accountable on and off the court. I'd like to see Laimbeer as an assistant for a couple of years.

This is actually a good idea. They could do different drills like "hey, your team is down 2 w/ 5 seconds left, draw up a play right now" or give them a team and have them cross match defensively and outline a strategy then bring Sheed in to randomly scream and generally be difficult and see how they react. LOL

You can certainly ask X and O's, as well as personnel, questions during a coaching job interview.

I wonder if most GM's do. It seems they are more focused on personality and character which are important, and whether they like the person/how well he sells himself, but the only time i've ever heard sommone coming with like layouts, diagrams, and flow charts, etc was w/ Vinny Del Negro (the jury's still out on him).

Avery Johnson, Collins, JVG, or Bill Laimbeer.

If any of those guys are chosen, they sure will be a hell of a lot more entertaining to watch and listen to than Flipper or tablecloth.

What an exciting day on the forum!
