I guess there is no shame in getting replaced by "the most interesting man in the NBA"

There was ALOT and i mean alot going on behind the scenes. You should read what the players were saying after and the stuff that came out; even Dirk who's pretty mild mannered spoke. There is also a video of him
"coaching" Harris where he's absolutely belittiling him and just disrespectful by an standards.

They said he was a dictator, inflexible, stubborn, called every single play, refused to give an inch, and prized his own ego among everything else. He would cut players down and had no idea how to "manage' the different personalities. He got into to it w/ Cuban a few timees which initself is not that surprising.

Joe could have hired Avery, JVG, or Collins last year. To hire one of them now would make Joe look incompetent.

Joe wants to have an idea about the coach before the summer league:
Dumars says he wants new coach by next Tuesday - nba - SI.com
So, we should know soon who's the next sacrificial lamb will be.

I went with Laimbeer this year. (Went with Curry last year, after the decision had been made by Joe D -- I didn't want to second-guess the GM....)

I think very highly of JVG, and I think both Avery and Collins are reasonable picks. But Laimbeer is available and I think we should take him.

Oh, and I'd love to see HQ bring his military discipline to the sidelines!

I don't want to go with any flashes in Avery's pants.

I don't know why we wouldn't go after Thibodeau.

There is too much history with Laimbeer. I do not think it will work. They need someone that is independent and will stand up to Joe. Hire Laimbeer as an assistant.

I guess as long as Bill L is on the staff somewhere I'd be happy. I just want him providing some motivation.

Seriously , what is it with Laimbeer rant?

WAKE UP!!! This dude has not shown ( at least not publicly) ANY interest in getting job in NBA. Yet many dream of him like a saviour.... Get real, right?

wow. In this case he has had enough time to attempt it. So far he has not been very dedicated.

He may have some bad blood with Pistons organization but it should be no issue for other teams.

Lee may not have shown interest lately but he has been busy with his garden and school work. I think in the past he has expressed some interest.

He may not be a savior but he does watch a lot of film.

If coaching the WNBA team for 6 years and nabbing 3 championships doesn't get you any goodwill with ownership, then ownership is crazy.

    Pure class.

    Thanx TaS, for an update.

My rant was totally missing shot, then . What a waste of effort.

Rax, I can respect a good rant.

I'm just totally biased for Laimbeer because I like his demeanor.
