    Why?

Why do the Pistons have to make it so hard on themselves every series? Every series they have to make an amazing comeback. Why don't we just step on the others team throat and kill them right there? This team is starting to really tick me off right now:mad::frusty:

    Re: Why?

It's just not in them to do that.

Ron Harper said something earlier in the year about trying to cultivate that instinct to annihilate, but I'm not sure it's possible, for these guys anyway. Collectively, they're too cool, too level-headed.

Guys like Bird, like Isiah, like MJ, they were out to kill. These guys aren't.

    Re: Why?

:frusty::smash::mad2::mmph:. I'm so ticked right now. Pistons better kill the heat in game 4:deadhorse. I'm tired of this why can't we just win games early in the series? We always make it hard on ourselves and it will catch up to us. It killed us against the Spurs last year and it might this series:mad:.

    Re: Why?

Pistons have won 3 their last 8 games. Now they have to double that winning percentage by winning 3 of the next 4. It would be a really good time to flip that switch. There is a switch, right? :frusty:

    WHY are we SISSYING out???

I don't want to inflate our egos (although Ben could use a bigger head to fit his 'fro) but we are better than this team. We kicked 'em before. We could kick them this year. I don't know what is up.

    Flip Curse, anyone?

I'm torn between whether or not I should blame Flippy or the boyz or what. Because I know we're better than this.

    OY VEY!

    that's all for my rant.

You can post this on the other "Why" thread. I can see why you didn't though because a lot of us are impatient now.

Welcome to the forum, Professorspawn.:welcome: I have no idea why oh why our Pistons look so out of it. I don't go with the bighead theory though. I think they are in an identity crisis. They can't figure out whether they are offensive jumpshot specialists or defensive lockdown ballers. Flip can't figure it out either. So everyone is confused, and chaos is the order of the day. That's my story for today anyway, and I'm sticking to it.

    OY VEY.

Glad to see you posting. We must support each other in these trying times of Piston meltdown.

Himat, I did a search on "why" to find other why threads, per your advice. It didn't turn up anything. I too would like to know how to search for threads. Professorspawn is new, and I am still kind of new, and I'd like to know how to find subjects. Is there a way other than search forum to check?

Anyone else can answer too if they see this question.Thanks.:)

Or maybe it would be a really good time to switch the Flip. There is a Flip, right?

    Re: Why?

We're obviously half a step slower in playoff games, because we are so predictable and players think too much over every movement during the game.
Predictable, with same core players for so many years it won't be difficult for opponent to figure out their next step. CB knows that every player knows that eventually they're currently playing in a mood of, say, it was written on Keyon Martin's left fore arm, check with it.

Why am I more angry right now than I was when the Pistons were facing an actual elimination game against Cleveland in Game 6? Cleveland is a worse team than miami as well so why am I angrier right now then when we were sucking against the Cavs?

Himat, maybe because we haven't improved our play very much since then. It's hard to watch them underachieving again and again. Plus, we had the big expectation building Best Team in the NBA season. I keep thinking THAT team is going to show up in these playoffs and every time they don't, I get more angry than worried or sad. Can't understand, where did THAT team go? Was it fatally flawed for the playoffs? Or what? Like Microwave wrote on 5/18 we Pistons fans are presently engaged in The largest missing persons hunt in the history of sports fandom:mad:.

Actually, I think it might be for two reasons: first, because you probably weren't entirely surprised to see the Pistons underachieving against a lesser team since they have tended in the past to get up for better teams and so now against Miami we expect them to bring their best game; second, because maybe you weren't really afraid that they would lose that elimination game against Cleveland, so that in a sense, it was as though less was at stake.

Of course, you might have been asking rhetorical questions...

Because we were falsely believing that this squad is head and shoulders above the competition.
Truth is this team has a lot of warts.
Add parity to the above suggestions
