YouTube - Chris Wilcox - Pure Athlete

He looks a lot like Ben with a bit more offensive touch if you ask me. Kwame will be needed against bigger centers, but I'm going to go ahead and guess he's our starter at the five. Might be ready for a breakout. He had some big games in Seattle. If it weren't for David Lee, he might've had some big ones in New York as well.

    New predicted rotation:

    C: C. Wilcox, K. Brown, *R. Nesterovich
    PF: C. Villanueva, D. Summers, J. Maxiel
    SF: T. Prince, A. Daye
    SG: R. Hamilton, B. Gordon
    PG: R. Stuckey, W. Bynum

if we sign rasho, gooden or ben (like everyone seems to think we're going to), the jerebko probably spends a year in the NBDL...unless we can find a taker for Max.

He may have looked like Ben but he's a guy who hasn't even averaged one block in his entire career. He clearly has the physical tools, so maybe he'll show us something more.

I agree with starting Chris Wilcox, but espn reports that he'll come off of the bench? Also Summers IS NOT a 4 he's an oversized 2 or a 3.

Frankly I DO feel that Wilcox will get his career on track here, and he does have the potential to be a defensive presence like Ben, with a much better offensive game.

The problem is, he has never played defense like that consistently. It would be terrific if he had. He actually steals at a higher rate than he blocks shots. I think he really didn't give a crap last year at all, with the chaos and the 11 guards running around and over dribbling. But even in Seattle he didn't really do that. Perhaps with a bit slower game here, it will be more to his liking.

    I hope he is ready.

He's a tweener wingman. He's not a four, and could probably hang with bigger twos on defense.

Isn't there some saying that includes a pot and kettle that would fit nicely for this situation?

At the best Wilcox will be "a good player who can play some descent D,but not that good to be evan a DPOY candidate".Good/great defenders are from the first season of their career. You won't become a good/great defender in one year. And forget LBJ he's mega overrated with his defense,it's ridiculous when a player from a poor defender becomes a great defender in one season.

He may not be a shot blocker, but Wilcox is an excellent defensive rebounder, which is pretty darned critical if your team ever hopes to really get a defensive stop.

In that aspect I can see the comparison.
