You preaching to the core here. But I'll bet that Dupree does not see more than 200 mins total next season? I don't think he was brought in to be any part of anything other than to sit there in case someone gets injured. I have not seen Acker play since last season and was not too impressed with him. So on this point I am not sure if Acker is the kind of young guy to make a statement with. I could be wrong though. Apparently he did well in the summer league? Hard to get a gage with all those fouls.
Why the two year deal if he's just brought in here to hold up the bench? That's what should give pause about Dupree's deal. There doesn't appear to be a reason to give him a two year deal unless he's actually going to play.
I don't know - trade fodder? Any vet making less than 1mil/yr is not going to play very much. 1.5mil over 2 years is his deal with a player option in year 2. So he also has the option to walk next season.
the problem is the coach has been playing those other guys the # 1 and # 3 options instead of our 7 - 10 young up and coming players. this pisses off the young players and then they want out. why are we developing and paying these young players and just letting them walk for nothing. i hope this year the pistons change this philosophy. acker, jmax, blalock, delfino must play.
We'll be better if the guys play. They're not in the NBA for no reason. Heck they can do things better than our starters sometimes. If Delfino, J max, and some others step up along with Nazr we'll be better than last years team. That's a big IF though.
I am always hoping that every move made in the Piston's organization is a good move. I am glad that you guys are up on new or college talent.
