Stuckey reminds me of that Christmas present that I unwrap every year. When I get that tie from my sister, it makes me wish that just one year.......I'd like to see something different.
Rod Stuckey was handed the keys to the team and has shown little or no improvement. He has essentially plateaued to become the player that he's gonna be for his entire career. Despite getting modest minutes, Evan Turner has shown some improvment. He just looks like a better player than his rookie year. He rebounds well for a guard and he's going to be a dynamic scorer in the NBA. With Iggy now in Denver, Turner is going to take a pretty big leap this year. If their contracts were aligned and Joe was able to offer Stuckey straight-up for Turner, he'd get laughed at.
INSIDER: SEPTEMBER POWER RANKINGS | THE OFFICIAL SITE OF THE LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS Took this from the Clippers website The so called NBA insider ranks the Pistons as 27th in his preseason power poll. I have read his BS before and won't give him that much street cred on knowing other teams weaknesses and strengths...based on his astute analysis, we are the 2nd worst team in the east.....which means if he were voting in this poll, it would definitely be under .500. Another poll from 8/23 written by a guy from NBC SPorts has the Pistons ranked 23rd and ahead of the Magic, Cavs, Bobcats and Hornets in the east http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/08/23/nba-summer-power-rankings-free-agency-moves-lakers-up/
He has shown some improvement over the past few years. TS%: .479, .544, .550 WS/48: .052, .111, .131 He has really improved his 3-point shooting, which helps to spread the floor and makes others better. 3P%: .228, .289, .317 Besides, he's wearing down the league one collision at a time.
NBA ranks for today: 71- Kenneth Faried 72- Ersan Ilyasova 73- Jrue Holiday 74- Anderson Varejao 75- Paul George 76- Kevin Martin 77- Javale McGee 78- Jeremy Lin 79- Andrei Kirilenko 80- Arron Afflalo. Still no Monroe. That keeps me smiling these days!! :D .. Hopefully he can reach the top 60! Arron Afflalo 80, Stuckey 103. That's hard to swallow.
Afflalo was already a 40% 3-point shooter and a great defender when we had him. It just baffles me that we let him go for nothing.
According to rankings...........we shoulda kept him and released Stuckey to Denver..........Billups knew better.
I'm going to toss guarded optimism out and knock back a tall glass of kool-aid. I'm very confident in the work ethic. We won't come out like a YMCA pick up all star team with matching jerseys. We have good established roles and decent chemistry. These guys know what is expected of them. We've gotten bigger and more athletic. We will surprise a lot of people.
I think the old vets (Prince, Stuckey, Maxiell, and Magette) will be adequate, and the young kids will be awful, but promising. Then, they will come together and make a late season push, show a little chemistry to go with the raw skills, and drop the draft position 5 spots.
Another 10 has dropped and Monroe's photo hasn't appeared.. :D #61: Brandon Jennings #62: Anthony Davis #63: Nicolas Batum #64: Ray Allen #65: Mike Conley #66: Tony Allen #67: Carlos Boozer #68: Luis Scola #69: Tyreke Evans #70: Gerald Wallace ... Can Monroe reach the top 50?
Anthony Davis is already at 62 and hasn't even played a game. I like how Tony Allen feels 'motivated' by his 'snub' at 66. Is he serious?
