I am hoping that the Pistons go to work against the Cavs and not lose focus even if they are stomping them to death. Keep the pedal on the medal and on their proverbial necks the entire series. Close them out in 4. If the Pistons can have Chicago who in my opinion are a much better team than the Cav's down 3-0, then they certainly can take out the Lebron's without a problem. Hopefully Flip will game plan and mix it up when necessary, not giving them the same looks. Focus is the keyword here.
I agree, with these guys you never know. They say all the right things, but they just won't play up to them.
Yes. It is getting close to the prize - one series away. I am really going out on a limb saying this. A loss does not indicate their focus is not there. How they lose will.
I think its all about Sheed. This is the conferrence finals so he's knows there no where to go BUT UP!!!! I TRULY believe this will be PISTONS IN 4.
They will be focused throughout the entire series. Far to close now for anything else. The series shouldn't go longer than 6 games.
This is something that I have in mind. If they play like they can there's no reason they shouldn't be able to sweep. OK, I'll give Cavs one game on strength of LBJ and ref calls. But if Pistons are lackadaisical this could easily go 6 or 7.
I'd say the focus was decent, the execution was not, and Cleveland was just shooting far better... Your thoughts?
The question is what they are focusing on. It seems to look like their mind is in the game, but the body just doesn't follow. They also seem to be pressing and rushing some things. Or maybe we just don't give Cleveland enough credit.
The pistons have trouble when the D gets turned up a few notches against them. People complain that its a lack of focus or intensity and I guess it is because when the opponents defense takes you out of your game, you have to will it back into existence. I think thats the flaw in the offense first paradigm. It makes sense to play efficient O to limit easy buckets but to stymie the opponents is a product of D. Our defense is good enough to win IF our offense flows. But its not good enough to cover us when the O falters. That, i think was the LB pistons ace in the hole. And the offense faltered a lot so they had to win by D a lot. The other thing that I get by watching is that were trying to deter lebron while the Cav's are defending the pistons.
The way you beat the Cavs is by detering LeBron. During the season, LeBron had games of 20, 21, 26, and 41 against Detroit. Guess which 1 of the 4 games the Cavs won? So far in the playoffs, LeBron has had games of 10, 19, 25 and 32. Guess which 2 of the 4 games the Cavs won? Keeping LeBron out of the paint is the primary focus. Sometimes this leads to open looks for Cav teammates. You just have to hope the Drew Goodens and Daniel Gibsons of the world have normal games, not career games.
