It stunk that the Wings lost, but that was actually a pretty good and exciting hockey game.

Yeah, it was a great game. Any neutral fan who did not like this game just does not like hockey. Because the Wings gave it all in the third, and could easily have tied or won it, I don't feel as bad about the outcome as I might have felt. We really had Pittsburgh reeling in the third, and I like the fact that we will be playing the next game on the heels of that dominant third period.

I only saw parts of this game with the early PT start and the hoop game, but this was a sphincter tight game and the ending was crazy.

I'm really not down with the home team wears the dark uniform switch that the NHL has undergone and it has hindered my ability to watch the games.

Yeah, but you knew Pittsburgh was going to play a better game tonight than they did on Saturday. They also got a lot of breaks tonight. If the Wings bring their A game on Friday, as I am sure they will, they will beat this team.

I've switched my avatar to change the fortunes of the team and to inspire the Wings to win game 7. Go Wings...

Babs needs to light a fire under Hossa's butt.
Dude looks lifeless out there. Pav is playing on a busted up foot and is still skating with more energy than Marion.

As HQ likes to say: "Osgood WASgood!"
Defense has to help him out.

I hope Hossa scores a "hatter" in game 7 and Zet scores a surprising 1-punch knockout on "Jenny" in a 3rd period frustration induced brawl.

    Friday can't come soon enough.
This beard of mine is getting itchy and hot as heck!

I saw that article yesterday and almost posted it. It made me sad for him, and it also triggered many childhood memories.

I hope he pays a visit to the team and inspires them before game 7.

I'd like to see one of our guys get a "Gordie Howe hat trick". (A goal, an assist, and a fight). :)

A nice win one for Colleen inspiration speech from him would be nice prior to the game, and then let him carry the Cup around the ice once more for old times sake when they win it:winner_first_h4h::thumb:

By not having to sign Hossa, Quins got good pieces in Guerin and others. May have made them better than last year.

P.S. do they still kill pens with baseball bats ?
There'll be no happy Happy Feet in HockeyTown Friday.

This game will have no NBA competition Friday night but will go up against reruns Flashpoint, Ghost Whisperer, Samantha Who, Don't forget the Lyrics and an ABC cartoon.

Should get good ratings, (in some areas) but I find it interesting this morning when I was watching Good Morning America that not a nary comment on the Hockey game, but there were at least three minutes of conversation on the Laker-Magic game....??

I guess hockey is only big in Michigan, Canada, Russia...and Sweden...

That's not as bad as signing on the espn.com this morning to read about the game and having to go to the NHL page (that happens to be tucked away deeper than soccer and college football) to even see any mention that a game was even played last night. Is the media aware that it's the STANLEY F'n CUP!!??!!?!!!?!?!?

In 1971, the Blackhawks had the HCA vs the Canadians and each team had scored a home victory through game 6.

In Game 7, the Canadians prevailed on the road on the Hawks ice and that was the last time a road team has won the Cup on the road in a 7 game series.

Lets hope that as of Friday night at 11:30PM EDT, that tidbit of info is still the same and our Wings take care of business!!

I really think that the Wings are the better and deeper team, although Pittsburgh is very good too. I think the two best teams are fighting for the cup.

All things being even, the Wings should win, but you just never know. A funny bounce or two, a couple of calls (or no calls) by the refs to swing momentum...

Does the NHL care who wins at this point. I feel like they helped keep Pittsburgh alive to keep it close. Hopefully the game is called the right way.

I like Hossa and he's been working hard from what I can tell, but if he wants the cup he may need to put the puck in the net and not depend on others to do it for him. The hockey gods help those who help themselves...

    Red Wings 5

    Pittsburgh 2

Red Wings up 2-0 after one.

Red Wings up 3-1 after two.

They seal the deal with an empty netter in the third to make it 5-2.

It's only right. They have the Steelers coming up in a couple months. We've got the Lions.

If they give the MVP to Malkin and the Wings win I'm gonna be ill...but the bottom line is the hardware.

If the Penquins win does Hossa go back there next season?? He will feel foolish if the team he left is the one circuling the rink holding up the cup.....

I'd try my crystal ball, but I tossed it after game 6.

I tried the watermellon, but that was the pits.

I tried a grapefruit, but the images were very seedy.

I tried a bowling ball, but my mind kept going into the gutter.

I tried a tennis ball, but that just wasn't my racket.

I tried a golf ball but couldn't get into the swing of it.

Anyways...3-2 Wings...2 OT... OT goal Scored by Hossa....

I will be IN pitssssBurgh Friday Night as we have tickets to see Tigers Saturday Night. If we win, it'll remind me of a scene from 'Bingo Long Traveling allStars and motor Kings" when Richard Pryor's character is held hostage. If James E Jones homers, they are going to 'cut' Pryor. Jones homered...Nuff said.

When we win Friday, I might end up 'taking one' for the team...
