IF Joe Dumars wants some defense, Al Jefferson is not the answer man.. Don't get me wrong, I would love to have Big Al in Detroit, but he IS NOT TALL, and he IS NOT A GOOD DEFENSIVE PLAYER. And Joe D wants defense
Oh stop! JD is talking about Gatorade that contains no high-fructose corn syrup. Grit now has a combination of organizational vitamins that keep the body whole on a human scale. It is the scooping up of mother-earth. JD's pedigree is on the scale of dirty fingernails...but... make no mistake, the grip is strong. When all is reeling around you, take hold of that grip.
Exactly! This where you take an Aldrich, Whiteside, Sanders, Albabi. It's a great place to be in. Joe has shown a whole lot more success drafting here than anywhere else in the draft. As of right now we are $4.7 Million under the $56.1M cap. This trade will net us an additional $1M, we're actually saving money on the deal. By the time Stuckey is up for renewal, Max will be coming off the books, when we have to renew JJ - CV will be coming off the books. But even if he can't we're still on to something. And of course we know the guy we were going to pick with the 7th pick is built for the long run, and of course we know Tayshaun is too, right? Guys learn to play defense when the games mean something, in the PLAYOFFS! Put Al in the playoffs this year and he'll figure it out. This guy is only 25 years old, old enough to know the game but his best 7 years of basketball are ahead of him, and he's still playing for his next contract. Coming off a serious knee injury he still averaged 17 & 9, he'll be much healthier this year and those numbers will be even better. I'M PUMPED ABOUT THIS!!!!!
I cannot think of any reason not to want Jefferson on our team. We're talking about a guy that Minnesota felt was good enough to let go of KG. Without Jefferson, Boston wouldn't have been able to buy KG. Any one of those trades mentioned are no brainers for Joe. I think he's just waiting to see if something else could show up on draft night. Keep in mind, this trade can still happen even after draft night.
Yes and No Walt, because who are we drafting for with the 7th pick and who are they drafting for with their 2 picks? The deal as most recently reported needs to happen on draft night because of the picks involved. Lastly alot of teams are holding cap space in search of a top free agent, those disappointed teams are going to be making a run at Big Al when the smoke clears and another team may be offering a better deal. Now I'd be Packaging Rip, Max and those 2 picks for............................CAPP SPAYCE!!!!! We'd have $23.35 Million dollars worth of it!!!
Of course he hasn't. Has anyone talked to anybody? Let's be real there's less than 24hrs before the draft, every GM has talked to every other GM in the league by now. He may not have put the offer we speak of on the table, but AL Jeff IS availabale, Tay IS available,....Oh they've talked. At this point denial is confirmation.
I call bull. Kahn's lackeys did while Kahn was holding their leash. Just like every GM in the NBA. It's all about deniability.

A Jeff is probably the best low post scorer in the L. He's had injuries, but you'd think that alone would make him a favorite here of all places. His contract is the type you can move down the line if things do not work out. I am tired of the collection of stiffs making 1.3 million per year cluttering up the roster.
This is probably the best trade offer we are going to get for Tay. Joe is good at drafting in the 15-30 area as he has shown in the past. Not really too sure on who we could get from there, but Hayward doesn't seem like a bad player. I'd be a little more comfortable if we traded Tay, Wilcox, and the 7th pick for Al and the 4th. I know Al jefferson is a 20 10 guy, bu the has had injuries while Tay has been really consistent and injury free for MOST of his career. Even last year coming of the injury he played some great basketball. Hopefully Joe D is smart enough to accept this offer. As much as I would like cousins, thats not going to happen with the 7th pick.
I just saw on Draft Express that Minnesota is offering Detroit 4,16,23, Jefferson, and Flynn for Prince, Stuckey, Charlie V, Daye, and 7.
