Chauncy Billups - $11,050,000 Tayshawn Prince - $9,500,000 Rasheed Wallace - $13,680,000 Total: 34,230,000 For Allen Iverson - $21,937,500 Carmelo Anthony - $14,410,581 Total: 36,348, 081 Pistons will look like this if this happens 1. AI/Stuckey 2. Rip/Stuckey/AA 3. Carmelo/Hermann (resigned) 4. Max/Dyess/Draft Pick 5. Dyess/Amir/Samb Kind of weak in the front court.
I wouldn't do it. Too small. It's a small ball lineup. In the East, that's good for the 4th seed and a first round playoff exit.
I know the salaries need to be close, but I negate that deal too. The question is will they become more of the Denver Pistons and wiil become the Detroit Nuggets? With that being said I would rather Joe deal with a couple of teams and maybe deal 2 starters to two different teams and get something back and not send three of them away with Rip being the only legitimate holdover from the starter core.
Why dont we just trade Rip for Camby, It'd be alot easier. We basically make the Pistons the Nuggets and the Nuggets the Pistons and then see if swapping conferences will work.
Too low pistons, AI is old and the same kind of player as FA Arenas. Carmelo is strong and young but is not a player who has lead his team to a final conference or championship as our ALL STARS BILLUPS + SECOND ROUND / ANTONHY SHEED + MAXIEL / ALDRIDGE PRINCE/ KAMAN After this trade we colud sign a free PG with mid level.
If more than 2 starters are involved to get Carmello then I think we need to get a 3rd team involved because you don't want too many Nuggets. With that said if the Nuggets were in the East then they would have at least been getting out of the 1st round. If they are desperate for a PG and to get CB back in Denver then thats something that could work to Dumars advantage. Maybe something like CB,Maxiel for Mello and Atkins. Be tough to lose CB but in that scenerio Stucky would be given all the breathing room he could ever need and we could unleash Prince off the bench and see what he can do. You can't be tentative if you are trying to make an impact off the bench. Then Maxiel's departure would open up a spot for Amir and pick #29 can be the new HVC. Not to mention that we get a 3-pt bomber in Atkins. All depends on if Stucky is ready.
I probably would, although I agree Iverson has maybe 2.5 years left anywhere near what he was. Iverson is as old or younger than Billups and Sheed, and Melo is younger than Tay. Melo is arguably just entering his prime. Both Iverson and Melo fit the "new NBA" better than any of those Pistons except maybe Sheed and Melo's deal is reasonable.
What is Odom's status. I know he is not a good second option player but what if Lamar were a 3rd or 4th option?
Iverson is older than Billups. I see no point in getting older. I wouldn't like to see Joe make any trades that only benefit us for the next year or two. I'd like him to make us younger so we have a solid future.
AI would also have to be a two for one swap salary wise. Love AI, but is he better than CB & Rip combined?
