Would you rather add FAs to this team now, or do this?

That's why he hired Mo Cheeks to coach.

This time last year everyone was talking about Shabbazz being the next absolutely cannot miss star who everyone needs to tank for. Have a look how that has turned out so far. Who is to say Wiggins or any other of the prospects are going to be as good as advertised when the college season is over after every scout and media personality dissects his and all the other prospects games over a full year.

Also who says each of them come out and declare. What if Wiggins or Parker decide they don't want to declare after one season. Sullinger stayed, Barnes stayed, Smart stayed. These were all guys who were sure to come out after one season and were guaranteed top 5 picks.

Tanking and entire season for a remote possibility of getting a star player is almost always suicide for a franchise.

Welcome to the forum though :)

If we only win 20 games next season then I don't know if I can follow this team anymore. Its been a grueling 5 years. Do we even get a draft pick anyway? When is that Gordon trade pick due.

Thing that I am discouraged about is the high prices FA'a are going for this year. In that regard we may be better served passing and paying whatever fine there is for being so far under the cap. Better that than taking on a crippling contract. Then go from there. But with what we have and a better coach we should be close to .500 which will make the Pistons look like more of an up and comming team. Maybe then we can get someone good for a reasonable price.

If that is the case you just sign up guys for big time one year contracts to make up the difference.

The 2014 pick is top-8 protected. The 2015 pick is top-1 protected.

Do you see why CV and Stuckey have at least a little bit of value?

I have never said that they have no value. I just don't really like them as players. In fact I have made the point elsewhere that you don't amnesty chuckles until you have replaced his salary/upgraded the position. However, I think that Stuckey is a far bigger problem than BoT in terms of hurting the team. At least CV can produce at his position and get hot from the arc.

Stuckey can contribute significantly to the progression of scientific experiments at CERN.

Thanks, so they will probably pass on 2014 and we lose 2015. Hope we are good by then.

If its pick 9 or above then we get to choose to give it to them or wait until 2015? Yes I think that's how the Memphis pick worked too when we got Darko.

If it's 9 or worse, they get it. Otherwise we get it, in which case the next year if it's 2 or worse, they get it, otherwise we get it, and the agreement ends. Both teams are locked in, no one gets to choose.
