Sorry for starting a new thread, but I did not want this topic to get lost in some of the other threads that seem to get derailed into other conversations.

Would you trade Nazr Muhammad for Etan Thomas? I would.

I think Etan Thomas could be the answer that our team needs. Everyone knows the problems between Washington's Haywood and Etan Thomas. Those two guy's do not like eachother. They have been in atleast 3 or 4 fights with Etan Thomas getting the best of Haywood each time and getting suspended a few times for beating up his teammate. Personally I rather have Etan Thomas. The guy is tough. The guy has Ben Wallace qualities. He plays good defense and blocks a lot of shots. The injury problems concern me a bit ,but I think it is worth the risk to get Nazr off the books. I think Etan Thomas brings a toughness in the paint that teamed up with Sheed would make us better up front defensively and feared. I don't see D-Wade or LeBron driving down the lane with Sheed and Dirty T holding down the paint.

    Just get it done Joe.

    The guy is garbage.

    No, No..........A thousand times no.

He does play hard, I will give him that. Ben Wallace qualities? I have seen him play many times, and I haven`t seen any Ben Wallace qualities.

Let him stay with the Wiz.

its a lateral move. The best thing we can hope from him coming here is his Mo evan's - like verbosity. On the court, I don't see a difference.

What's Thomas contract terms at this point? I could only see doing it to get out of Nazr's length of contract. Otherwise, it would be making a deal for the sake of making a deal.

    No for a couple reasons

1 I would rather have Haywood because he is younger taller and a NC boy like Sheed

2 I think he would fight Sheed like he fought Haywood.

    3 I hate his hair

4 Haywood gets more rebounds than Thomas has almost the same fg% and about the same blocks

5 Haywood has 1 less year than Thomas on his contract.

6 Thomas has a trade kicker.

Absolutely, he can't be worse than Nazr. He rebounds and blocks, though his offensive isn't that good.

Now, now you know me better than that - Wiz hater? I am privy to the Wiz players and actions.

Trust me, we don`t want Etan. If we have nothing to lose (or gain) like some have mentioned; why do it?

If we did get him everybody on the Pistons roster would wup dat %%%%%, so we wouldn`t have to worry about that!!!!!!

Well, the good thing about Nazr is he is professional. But like someone said, if Eatons got a smaller contract it would be worth it.

    Anyhow, it ain't happening.

I think we don't need a center that scores that much. I think in the long run adding C-Webb might have hurt the team. Two many players were defering shots and noboby stepped up because they were looking for that the next guy to shoot. I think you just need a guy that can hit a jumper if left wide open and someone that can clean up around the rim and makes the defense stay honest.

I would do Nazr for Haywood, but not really keen on Etan Thomas either.

Well he is a bigger body than Nazr, and more defensive minded, I think he is better suited to what we need than Nazr is.

Does he have the often discussed but rarely detected Piston DNA ?

Can he be as professional as Nazr after being benched once Flip becomes disenchanted with his inability to shoot the rock ?

Will he want to fight every youngster ahead of him in the pecking order ?

Does being a Wiz make his defensive output simply appear great by comparison ?

    Inquiring minds want to know.

Hell Naw, not the poet man.

He is soooo inconsistent., damaged goods, its a given that he will have injury problems at least twice a year.

Etan takes plays off, he may play good for one half, the next half he is MIA.

Haywood is a much better option. He can't be any worse than Nazr with a shorter contract and washington is lloking to trade Haywood moreso than Etan (thank goodness).

Plus, as someone mentioned earlier, there is the NC connection, I think Haywood have a mean streak, otherwise he wouldn't be whupping Etan's azz every other day in practice.

I would do it, he brings a lot of bulk and toughness and his deal can't possibly suck as bad as Nazr's.

He's a very good screener also.

I could platoon him in have him play about as many mins a Webber did this last season and be just fine with that.

Armygirl... Haywood is awful. I watched Andre Hutson at MSU (a damn fine player but only 6'6" and change) eat Haywood alive in college. Haywood has horrible hands, no quickness, no heart, and no confidence. He is worse than Nazr. At least Nazr is smart positionally and can shoot the ball a bit.
