Ok, all this talk about having tons of cash for 2010 market, I'm sure everybody had at least a "what if" thought about LeBron coming here. My question is, would you want to have LeBron here? I'm not looking for "he'll never sign here because..." type responses. I'm curious to know if you would actually want him here if the stars lined up. If it were about two years ago, I would've said "absolutely" without hesitation. However, he really has grown a huge ego. There are so many things he does I just cannot stand. The "Chosen1" tattoo is exhibit A for what this kid has become. I personally think it would be a lot more satisfying for me to be a fan of the team that beats LeBron than the team that has LeBron. What do you all think?
Know what you mean. But he is not coming here. Everyone is saying New York, even though no FA's actually go there. Maybe Lebran will.
He is already in our players heads, may as well put him in a uniform too... All the current hate for him would turn around in a millisecond as soon as we won our first 50 games...and moved back into the finals. After all when is the last time we had a player who generates phantom fouls on the way to the hoop for multiple trips to the free throw line??? NEVER
That's basically like acting if we would have liked to have Michael Jordan, or Wilt Chamberlain in their primes. Of course. as for the tattoo - Amare Stoudemire has a tattoo that reads "Black Jesus." How's that for ego? Does that mean we shouldn't add him?
Blue, I didn't see the tattoo comment, but a lot of people here are really sarcastic. Just so you know, a lot of the crazy stuff written is tongue in cheek. As far as LeBron, he's the only player in the NBA who is worth $20 million a year in my opinion.
The last regular season loss to the Cavs left a sour taste in my mouth, but other than that I kind of like LeBron. His little dances etc don't bother the players so they don't bother me. It is amazing for him to come into the league so young and athletic and not overly rely on his athleticism. How many other guys like him could come in to where he came into and not fire up shots like a knucklehead. I would bum out more if the Pistons pranced around like the Celtics did last year.
Let's see. He's an arrogant prick who plays an unselfish game. He's amazingly talented, and arguably the best player of his generation. The league LOVES him, and he gets the calls, while not taking many calls. And he's still young enough to become a franchise player for the second time in his career. If there is the tiniest chance to sign Lebron taking him away from a division rival, there is no way you don't do it. You pay him as much money as possible and don't think twice about it. At the very least, you drive his value so high that someone who is not as well positioned cap wise compromises their balance sheet.
Yeah, I would want him here and I don't like that I would. Not sure if I would "like" the team, but it's not like I do now, anyhow. The Bad Boys had their "personalities" too, and I LOVED that team. Oh man. The Cavs got Lebron and with the next pick Detroit takes...
It boggles the mind to think what his PPG average could be if he had a steady 20' J. He's averaged 27.5 PPG for his career with a spotty at best J. He's the age of someone 1 year removed from college.
No, about denying him because he's such a prick. Not like that model citizen slash teammate slash person Kobe Bryant.
