It might have been a good thing. We would tank the season and get a high lottery pick this year and Amare would be ready to go next season.
From what I've heard Michael Curry is absolutely infuriated over this as he is a big fan of the "Pirates Of The Carribbean" Series and really thinks we need a hybrid pirate player in the line-up...I guess earlier in the season he asked Alex Acker to put on an eyepatch and yell out phrases such as "arghhhh!!!" and "ahoy matey!!!" throughout the games and practice. No wonder why he got shipped to the Clippers.
Hell yeah, we would have been in real good shape if that happened. We would essentially tank the season and then get a lottery pick and a healthy Amare ready to go next year. Ala Miami Heat last year. Ahhh that would have been sweet, haha.
LK, this is a great rendering of what Amare's eye patch will look like once he gets the green light from his doctor to begin playing again. I read on Hoops Hype this morning (I'll try and find the link) that Amare's agent has contacted Rufus Henry to help in rehab efforts and teach him the fine art of playing with one eye. In a related story (again I'll try and find the link), the Suns' trainer has contacted a product development team at Nike and they've already began work on Amare's signiture Nike "Air Patch". These should start showing up at Foot Locker and Lens Crafters in the coming weeks.
The Amar'e patch will sell millions once they put the Nike swish on it. I hope Rufus is negotiating to get a cut.
