Stuck's point guard experiment on ice? Looks like Stuck may be sliding back to the 2 now since Rip may be injured again. This time the hamstring. Detroit Pistons' health woes continue as Richard Hamilton injures hamstring
Re: Stuck's point guard experiment on ice? Rip's trade value is dropping with every injury...if he is this fragile..who's going to take him with his salary?? Bynum was actually dressed yesterday, so we may see him tonight if the frozen bananas don't work on Rips' hammy
I still can't figure out what you guys see in Stuckey playing the 3 that would ever make it a viable solution to ANY problem. Nevermind the fact that when the few times he WAS told to guard a SF for spot minutes he racked up fouls faster than 2012. He gets posted and fouls. He gets shot over. Besides that, when he gets a minute or two against the likes of Caramello or Durant, they still get around him. He's a bad option at the 1, he's a reasonably good option at the 2, but he's even worse at the 3 spot than either of the afore mentioned positions. I just don't get it. He's not equipped to play SF for any meaningful stretch of time in a game.
Re: Stuck's point guard experiment on ice? Hopefully his wife will tell him to man up and play so he won't be out so long this time. It didn't dawn on me until I tuned into the game last night that the Hou v Det game last year at The Palace was when Curry gave his infamous "They good" sideline interview. Looking back, he probably never recovered from that.
Re: Stuck's point guard experiment on ice? As Houston reached 50 points in the first half mark last night, I realized it was that same game at the Palace last year when the Rockets scored 50 with like 7 or 8 minutes TO GO in the first half, and concluded that it was going to be a long rough road.
Actually, that's not that far fetched. Q played CV at the 4 and Max at the 5 for a few stretches in some games and it worked out pretty good combined with the triple guard attack. Granted you can't do that against bigger teams like Orlando or LA, but it certainly is a solid option.
Sounds like I am not the only one to notice CV's post presence. Appreciating Charlie Villanueva: Perfect in the Post? | Detroit Bad Boys Time to run the offense through Charlie. High percentage shots from a 6'11" post player with a soft touch and several moves as opposed to Stucky running head-on in to players 5+ inches above him and trying to force something in the hoop. Don't get me wrong. I love Detroit's famed guard play which has been a staple of our 3 championships. I take pride in it. But CV could be that low post threat we need to turn our game plan around and head in a new direction. ....if only he was quick enough to defend other PF's....I say stick him at the 5 and let him tear it up! (Ben Wallace subs in for stretches to get stops and to spell CV) Put Daye and Summers at SF. Max and JJ at PF.
I meant people saying that he can't play point. Don't know why I didn't specify, that just created confusion. I doubt anyone actually thinks he can't ball. Give the guy some time though at the point, he is learning, I have no problem giving him this season and next to see if he can figure it out.
well something pop in my head what if joeD trades stuck, who are we gonna get? Or was there other teams that had called the Pistons front office to check if stuck is available? I am just curious on what prize are we gonna get to shop stuckey on other teams.....so please help me out...seriously its really frustrating.....
That would be a good one though...I dunno if the bucks management will allow that to happen...But yeah Im not gonna argue...getting jennings will do for me...
And Sir, one might argue that nothing was helped by Rip deciding to play all on his own and neglecting to inform any of his colleagues who might have been able to prepare for his return had they only known.
If I remember correctly it was sometime around the middle of the season last year that a Ramon Sessions torched us and all of a sudden everyone on this forum wanted to swap Stuckey for Sessions. People still interested in that?
NOPE! But I would love to do a deal that sends Rip to Minn, Sessions + Filler (Brian Cardinal's expiring) to LAClips, and Baron to Detroit, I'd do it in a heartbeat, and I think Minn and LA would too.
WTB....lol! The WoW inferences expound! Everytime I log on I see one. What the heck is going on? Just when I think I've gotten away the strangest places pull me back in!
