Chuck DeShane, a two-way player for the Detroit Lions during the 1940s, has died at 87. He died Sunday after a long illness, the team said Wednesday. DeShane played quarterback and linebacker in 1945 and 1946, his first two years with the Lions. After coach Gus Dorais installed the T formation, DeShane, 6-foot-1 and 218 pounds, was shifted to guard and played that position from 1947-49. Link To Original Article
