This is just my opinion based on no inside information so take it for what it is worth. No matter what happens (even if the pistons go to NBA finals) this season, I predict that there will be a MAJOR shakeup in the starting lineup. At least one, maybe 2 starters will be gone before next season. I predict Chauncy and either RIP or sheed will be gone. Did anybody see Dumar's face at the end of the 4th game when piston's win was sealed. He was very serious and almost fuming. If i were Joe, I would be angry too. You head it here first... (not 100% sure.. there might be others who might have said similar things but I dont read every post in every thread) ;-)
Here's one of my own. Actually, my brother was the one to predict this, but before the playoffs, we agreed that if the Celtics don't sweep the Hawks, they will NOT win the championship. So now I can say - the Celtics will NOT win it all this year.
Joe will probably make some moves, but it will be interesting to see what happens. Can you imagine the complacency that this team will have if they win the title this year? It's scary.
OK, I'm going WAAAAAAAY out on a limb here but, ...here it goes: Lindsey Hunter will NOT be back next year. He'll move into some administrative roll or become an assistant coach.
i think there might be some interesting trading opportunities with the charlotte bobcats. with larry brown, who is an excellent coach but a suspect GM who will trade away talented youth for experience in a heartbeat, and a weak minded fool in jordan running the show, i believe joe could fleece jordan again. no way does LB wait around for charlotte to get better. only probably being is that charlotte doesnt exactly have alot of underpriced pieces we would want. maybe felton or okafor, or their incoming pick.
Joe fumed because he wants the youth back that he saw in 2004. The starters are complacent and the youth is finally ready to take over. Joe shakes up the chemistry of the team by dealing away 2-3 starters. Look for new players and a new team slogan, but with Flip at the helm. Davidson signs off on the deal cause Joe Guarantees 50 regular season victories next season along with a 20 million bottom line for Davidson. Joe becomes the "Monte Hall" of the NBA in the off season.
Roscoe36, I don't what you mean. BTW, I am not a piston hater. I have followed them since 1988. The year I came to this country - so I am not a bandwagon jumper here. I want them to win badly but I seriously believe that they have wasted 2 golden opportunities to win championships (one against the spurs and last year when they lost to cleveland) because of their nonchalant attitudes thinking that they are way better than the rest of the league. I see the same issues in first 4 games against Philly. They have tuned out Flip. I am not saying that Flip is not at fault here but tuning out a coach is not a good sign for a team that wants to win a championship. I believe that they will win game 6 in Philly but unless they keep the peddle to the metal and sweep Orlando (or win 4-1), I think they are in trouble. Maybe the 2004 'ship came too early/easily and without much of a struggle unlike the 89-90 pistons and early 90s bulls. If they would have had to work for it, maybe it would have been a different stroy and we would be looking at 3 'ships and not just be talking about 6 straight trips to the eastern cof. finals. Just my 2 cents.
My bad pistonsfan. I thought you were this other guy, Pistonature from over at the Detroit News. My apologies.
Wasn't Pistonature the guy who posted different lineups and trades almost every hour at the News forum. He was confused.....
No, he was the guy that hated our current roster and wanted us to trade everybody and pick up other teams bench players because they would be "hungrier".
Yep he was quickly renamed pistonmanure by all because of the bullsh*t he was posting. He show up under a similar name and spewed the same nonsense all season.. That moniker is now gone and no doubt he is posting under another name now waiting to pop up again if the Pistons stumble
You [strike]heard [/strike] saw it here first...just in case that under cover deal made last October comes true, its the Pistons and the Rockets in the finals T-mac and Rip > ad ready to roll in June
I think 'nature is on the payroll in the other forum. I think LH is solid for another couple of years. Just because he's old and ineffective you guys jump all over him.
