I know we're all a little disappointed after this latest loss, but trading up in the draft isn't in the Piston DNA. Pistons only trade down, hopefully out of the first round entirely.

This is true, although it may be time to try something a bit different.

He's gotten 2 games short of winning a championship in his first year as coach. That's further than Flip has ever got his entire career.

Granted the loss to the Warriors was embarrassing, but NONE of the Dallas players believed they would win that series. You could tell from their body language from the beginning of Game1.

For the record, I don't think Avery Johnson is the answer for the Pistons. However, I'd trust this team to him before Jeff Van Gundy. Oh, and he'll certainly do better than Curry.

Maybe bring in a couple of Shock players? They certainly have more heart than half the team we have.

Rubio has great court vision and defense, his body is still weak to nba players, but he is great, his team has very fluided attack and ball moving because his ability. But this week end DKV Joventud played worse game of the seasson, lossed against the second last team in acb.
Steals and assist is good point, perimeter shot is his weakness, his body will improve in one or two years, like Pau Gasol,he arrived menphis like a spagueti of 2,15 centimeters,

Ricky is complementary with a combo guard like Stuck.
This draft and summer will be more fun than play offs...

I wonder how the players would define their ideal off-season.

wow NTC where have you been man!

I really want to see a coaching change, and as much as I hate to say it, Rasheed Wallace needs to go.

Not to dismiss the article outright, but I never got the impression that Blakely had a particular insight into the mind of Joe.

Most times when he tries to analyze, it's just speculation. Like McCosky.

The biggest move would be to get some talent who wants to work hard. Then address the coach.

I didn't know if he was "in the know", but it definitely sounds like his random thoughts on the team.

Joe needs to do what he needs to do to somehow pry Shane Battier away from Houston. The guy is a leader and motivator, plus he makes it no secret that he would love to play for the Pistons.

If you folks get a chance, check out the article on Shane Battier in Wed 15 April edition of USA Today.

Secondly, the Wizards want veteran leadership, I think that they just may trade their first round pick for a veteran.

I would love to have Caron Butler, he is a leader and a player who will get you 20 plus a night consistently, plus he is a great character guy.

We not to start rebuilding, and hell yea, its time for Sheed to move on, he is a cog in the wheel, he is too damn comfortable with the process, even though I like the guy, but it's time for him to grace his leadership with some other team.

If we were to add Battier and Butler, either Rip or Tayshawn becomes expendable.

I would love to get Battier, but he's no piece for a rebuild. He is a great role player/ defensive specialist for a team without any major weak links. Having defensive voids throughout the lineup kills a guy like him by making defense irrelevant.

I want to see the look on Tay's face when they tell him he's been traded to the Wiz and gets Flip again.

    MAN..you guys are sensitive....

All I'm saying is that SOME people just hate the guy and it's not because of is play. There is something to be said for how you replace / or not replace as the case may be a player of his talent level before he finally retires. Just saying get rid of him doesn't solve the problem. Addition by subtraction is a fallacy (the lone exception being Allen Iverson...lol).

You have to bring in talent to replace talent. It's preferably done BEFORE you get rid of the outgoing player. It wasn't done with Chauncey and it failed. It wasn't done with Ben and it failed. It hasn't been done with Sheed and will fail. This isn't like the coaching position and one guy has to be gone before you can hire his replacement. You should be working to get his replacement BEFORE you have to get rid of him.

...and frankly, at the end of the day, Sheed has not been as bad as people with personal dislikes have been making him out to be. I'm just sayin there's a lack of balance.

Good point low it's a mistake the pistons have suffered for in the playoffs.

A Sherrod said it best...to much change this season....you can't add a rookie coach and then take away your floor-coach and expect to be successful. We were a a team with no real direction

With that being said, now a real change is needed. It's probably been said in various threads, but I would draft the best big available at the 15, or trade the 15 and the 2 of the second round picks to move up 8 spots if possible and then spend some money trying to get either Bosh, Boozer, Battier, Chandler and if possible even a legit pg .....

Also...Joe how about saving face, give Curry another job in the front office, something that he might be good at and find a coach with some experience?? Avery, Laimbeer, Paul Silas, JVG, or some proven winner who has won a few games with less talent...
