Re: Tigers Trade Rumors

according to truth and rumors website, the tigers are interested in Burntiz-a left handed hitter. The site states:

The Tigers, looking for a lefthanded hitter, may go for former Met Jeromy Burnitz, who's usually traded about this time each year.

Re: Tigers Trade Rumors

You could trade a top prospect or two for Soriano, even if he is just a rental, since, as a Type A free agent, if he goes elsewhere you're going to get a top pick or two in the upcoming draft as compensation. Adding Soriano to the Tigers lineup?! Yeow.

Re: Tigers Trade Rumors

Soriano in the Tigers lineup would be a force which would go along with our outstanding starting pitching. The tigers have plenty of minor league prospects that they could give away.
Soriano is going to be in the all-star game. maybe in the home run derby? He can play outfield and 2nd base which will help out to in case anyone gets hurt at 2nd (Palanco)

Here is a article that lays out what the tigers need to do in order to go far in the playoffs...

The tigers need to go get Bobby Abreau, he leads the league in on base percentage which the tigers are 9th in the league in. The article sums it up...

I agree, at first I thought, "ehh, he might be too old" but i really didnt know how old he was, at the time i was thinking around like 36, but he's only 32 years old, and brings the left handed power that the tigers need. It would take a lot of pressure off the other hitters.

Go get 'em DD.

Re: Tigers Trade Rumors

The Tigers need to make a move fo sho. The current lineup is going to overtake the White Sox. Our pitching is great. Need more offense still.

Re: Tigers Trade Rumors

The Red Sox and Angels are interested in Abreau too. Abreau is going to be in the homerun derby tonight (which will be fun to watch) since he set the record last year at Comerica with the most homeruns in a single round.
Who do you think is going to win the derby? I'm going with Thome..

Re: Tigers Trade Rumors

My earlier post should have said that the current Tigers lineup IS NOT going to overtake the White Sox. They need a left-handed bat. Dombrowski must do something.
