Re: What's the best move the Tigs made this year?

Easy question. Not even debatable!

Convincing Leyland to take charge.

I voted for 'batting 1000' but the majority is right. The manager is making the engine go in the right direction.

I think that as we go on, the addition of Sean Casey will be added to that list, as well.

Leyland is a pro with experience. Been through a few pennant races in his time. Has won a World Series.

Re: What's the best move the Tigs made this year?

All of those moves were great.
But without some experience at pitching would leyland come here?
Keeping Bonderman and Maroth when others wanted them for their pennant races last year was strong.
Prior to this year, rich moves like adding Pudge and Maggs blended well.

I think Kenny Rogers and the success of the bullpen has been key to the Tigers run. Leyland has provided veterancy from the Manager position which has made everything easier for the pitching staff.

True, but poor old KR is doing his usual late season swoon.

except his last 18 innings where he's only given up 2 earned runs

i picked batting 1.000 - but i do want to say that i called the rogers move a great signing before the season started, when other people were hating on it. i said it would take pressure off bonderman to be the #1 and give us a veteran presence. woot.
