Thumbs up Tigers move on to ALCS!

Hell yeah, even though I'm kicking myself in the ass right now for having tiger season tickets the last 7 years and this year I decided to skip this year they go on to beat the yankees. The most expensive team in the MLB. Well now we have two more teams to go through and we will be the world series champs Detroit Tigers. WOW that sounds awesome to say.

CONGRATULATIONS to the CITY of DETROIT!

Definitely a great year in sports for Motown although we did not win it all. If only the Lions can do better.....

I think the Lions could help the city of Detroit by moving to Windsor.

They can play in the CFL, and diehard Lions fans can still watch the Lions lose while they enjoy the favorable exchange rate on some cold LaBatts.

Then Detroit can apply for an expansion team.

Heck no! I don't want my city associated with those losers!

Its bad enough I'm a fan. I don't want to have to share a city with them too!

Re: Tigers move on to ALCS!

After the great first half of the season and the second half collapse, they appear to be going into the upward spiral at just the right time.

Couldn't happen to a better group of guys. !!!

I really enjoyed the celebration which included the fans. It is one thing to stay in the clubhouse and celebrate, but some of the guys stayed out and others came back out, and everybody was spraying the fans with champaign, and the fans LOVED it. The first one I saw doing it was Sean Casey and he has been here the shortest time. The fans were really into the whole thing. It was a good reward for them.

OK, now the party is over. Got a lot more work to do.

Right on lazy!

It was SO cool to have the team celebrate with the fans!!! You never see that in professional sports, short of a parade a few days after the fact. Yeah...there's much work to be done. IMO that time spent with the fans will give the players A LOT of inspiration in the weeks to come.

Re: Tigers move on to ALCS!

Wouldn't it have been a good idea to put Shelton on the playoff roster? He can hit and play first base.

After what happened to Sean Casey last night, you might be proven right. What a tough break!

I don't know if it is too much to hope for but I hope he can get back. I really don't expect it, though.

DAMN !!!

Re: Tigers move on to ALCS!

Here is my thought process...

We put 3 backup infielders on the roster who a) can't play first base, and b) are not very useful as pinch hitters

Shelton had the 7th best ave on the team. He had the 3rd best fielding %.

If you assume that he played 160 games (he really played 115), then he would have had 142 hits, 22 HR, 65 RBIs, and 47 BB.

AND his hitting was one of the catalysts for the team's hot start at the beginning of the season.

Hopefully Casey gets back and it doesn't become an issue.

Shelton who?
Alexi Gomez!
I think we're in for 3 very good years of Tiger baseball. Then back to .535.
