and Zito is now the highest payed pitcher in MLB history. Its even higher than $126 Million, after he signs he is guarunteed $133 million. And all the clauses in his contract, he can earn up to a possible $144 million!

The Orioles continue to be active this offseason, reportedly signing 3B Aubrey Huff to a 3 yr, $20 million contract.

I agree.

He had a bit of an off year last year (injuries and traded to the NL), but he's only 30 years old and is good for 20-30 homers and 80+ RBIs a season.

The real losers are the A's fans... this happens to them every year... I hate a system that penalizes small markets.
One of these big spenders will strip the Tigers of their young pitchers.

I completely agree merc. MLB is far from a level playing field. The gap between the have's and the have nots is amazing.
