Damn...I'm in total shock. I feel really bad for him and his family. That took my breath away. Well, at least Prince can take care of his mom. Prince is smart to keep it quiet. |

Link:SI.com - MLB - Rogers to return for Tigers on Friday vs. Braves - Monday June 18, 2007 8:15PM AND The Tigers optioned rookie right-handed pitcher Yorman Bazardo to Triple-A Toledo today and called up right-hander Eulogio De La Cruz from Toledo. | Re: TIGERBEAT presented by Stroh's Tigers are trying anything to get that bullpen to perform. Can't wait for Zoom to come back, although I guess he can't be back before August. Jones pitched like crap again yesterday giving up 3 runs in one inning. Offense has been carrying the team so far, but their record is nothing to boast about at 40-29 one game behind Indians. |

The real issue is that we have not got to the half way point and those "damn yankees' have already shaved five games off the wild card lead with that 9 game win streak. Right now the A's are 2 back, the slumping Mariners 2.5 back and the surging yanks are 4 games back. The Tigers have to play better and eventually grab first place and try to extend that lead in the fall. No use messing with the yankees in August and September trying beat them out of the wildcard spot |

| Re: TIGERBEAT presented by Stroh's Tigers started bringing guys all the way from AA to try to get the bullpen to perform. Rodney has plain sucked so far this year. Grilli and Ledezma are inconsistent. The only guy that was a constant is Byrdak and who knows how long is that going to last. Also, as Leyland mentioned earlier, the starters are not giving the same innings and performances that they were last year and it puts greater strain and risk on the bullpen. The offense just keeps humming along. Casey with his 1st homer has been hot (but who is not hot on Tigers with more than 1/2 of the batters hitting over .350 for the month of June and Tigers leading the league in batting average?). If offense can sustain this and pitchers get a bit better we should be able to take the division from Indians. |
