| Re: TIGERBEAT presented by Stroh's Reports in Detroit indicate the Tigers are interested in Rangers relievers Akinori Otsuka and Eric Gagné and Detroit certainly has multiple assets. The Tigers have an unusual situation -- in fact, the polar opposite of the Rangers. Detroit has an abundance of starting pitching but is not strong in the bullpen. Therefore it would make perfect sense for the Rangers to ship a reliever -- or even both relievers -- to the Tigers for a young starter. link: Star-Telegram.com | 06/24/2007 | Prospects look good for a deal between Rangers, Tigers Q . Surpluses aside, are the Tigers planning any deals for bullpen help as they wait for Joel Zumaya to return? A . They have talked with Texas about Eric Gagne and Akinori Otsuka. The Rangers have had an eye on some of Detroit's Class A and Double-A starters. Stay tuned. Link: Week's trades will shore up Tigers' rotation and bullpen You guys see a possible trade happening???

| Re: TIGERBEAT presented by Stroh's I was reading takes on the Maroth trade. It's about 50/50, most thought it was too much experience to throw away. And the rest thought it had to be done and lightning would strike again with the PlayerTBNL. Bondo was one of those years ago. Q---what was Maroths fast ball pre injury? I hear it's mid 80s now. |
