Discuss: TIGERBEAT presented by Stroh's at Detroit Pistons Fan Community - PistonsForum.com

My view, Leyland is teaching them a lesson. A reminder about what it takes....

For all of Raburn's bat heroics last night, he looked like crap in RF in the 6th. I think Ordonez would have caught that...not to mention Raburn's relay was off-target and way short (the run scored)...it was like he had his eyes closed AND was suffering from vertigo.

I hope the guy does well with the Tigers, but JEEZ...learn to play the field.

I would have stuck with him to the end...

I think the bullpen has blown at least 7-10 saves and another 5 or 6 guaranteed wins and they should have a least 70-75 wins instead of just 60. They could be sitting with a 10 game lead over the tribe and could be coasting into the playoffs with the Yanks, Indians and Mariners fighting it out for the WC. Now they are just another team hoping that they can hold on to the division lead down the stretch..
Unfortunately JV's pitch count was somewhere around 110. This is only his 2nd full season in the majors and Leyland is big on pitch count. He wasn't going to leave him in especially with Thome coming to bat.

What is the lesson going to teach them? Their bullpen struggled the entire season. It is not like everyone else is having an issue. The offense is humming along. Starters sputtered a bit as of late, but that should rectify itself.

He's supposed to intensify his workouts soon. However, I don't think it is realistic to expect him to come back before September if at all this season.
Rodney is in Toledo for 3 games (tonight, Sunday, Tuesday) to get into working shape again. I wish he could come back to the last year's pitcher. That way he'd be a huge help to the team.

Now, this is funny. Did you see his ERA with St Louis?

In 40% of his starts, he gives up 1 run or less.

He does suck though, I have to admit.

Dmitri Young is having quite a year. Just looking for something to complain about. Help me out here.
